Today, it is one of the 24 international days to be observed around the world. CONSIDERATIONS FOR CREATING THE COMMEMORATION OF "WORLD DAY AGAINST SCHOOL BULLYING". Bullying, or school harassment, is a direct cause of more than 200,000 deaths worldwide each year, whether through homicide or incitement to suicide. That is, it takes the lives of 200,000 children and young people around the globe. In the same period, it has been proven to affect millions of students who generally drop out of school or endure their studies with anguish and exhaustion, as if it were a daily torture. Bullying is a silent enemy that feeds on three poisons: - loneliness - sadness - fear That is why we are fighting for a World Day Against Bullying to raise awareness of the problem and so that every child and teenager knows that bullying is wrong and that there are people all over the world ready to help them. In this way, we will literally be saving millions of lives. From now on, bullying will no longer be considered a bad habit, a clever trick, or childish prank. When it comes to carrying out this initiative, we know it will only be successful if it represents the consensus of the entire planet. That's why we need everyone's support. There were two men in the past who inspire us today for this truly quixotic endeavor: Martin Luther King and Nelson Madela. Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela. Like the first group, we too have a dream. Our dream is that one day bullying will be considered a despicable, dangerous, and unacceptable act by all children and adolescents worldwide. We don't want bullying to become an obstacle that keeps children and young people away from the classroom because, as Nelson Mandela said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." Therefore, esteemed colleagues, we formally request that May 2nd of each year be designated as WORLD ANTI-BULLYING DAY. This is a day when classes are held all over the world, in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, East and West. It is a full 24 hours to raise awareness about the destruction of children's and adolescents' human rights caused by bullying. A day to remember the pain, anguish, and fear of not knowing or understanding why a classmate suddenly attacks, harasses, isolates, and makes the school day unbearable. As of May 2, 2022, no fewer than 180 countries around the world will join: "May 2. World Day Against Bullying." How did World Anti-Bullying Day come about? "The blessed World Anti-Bullying Day was born spontaneously, in the hope and good faith of a dreamer who believes that things can change for the better with a little goodwill and effort." Dr. Javier Miglino The NGO Bullying Without Borders (BSF) was founded by Dr. Javier Miglino, an Argentine lawyer and expert in Human Rights and Child Protection, on May 2, 2012. Miglino had developed part of his professional career in Paris, France, where he worked in Human Rights with the Refugee Family Welcome Coordination (Coordination de l'accueil des familles réfugiées) and other internationally renowned NGOs. During this time, he was able to witness firsthand the suffering of refugee families, particularly children between the ages of 1 and 18. He observed how they endured the trauma of leaving their homes in Chechnya, Mexico, Indonesia, Vietnam, Nigeria, Rwanda, and other countries. With this experience, upon returning to Argentina, Miglino formed an interdisciplinary professional team, asserting that action was needed against bullying because there was no institutional mechanism anywhere in the world to combat this problem. From this conviction, the world's leading NGO against bullying and cyberbullying was born: the international NGO Bullying Without Borders (BSF). Miglino said: If bullying and cyberbullying don't stop, neither will those of us who defend the children, adolescents, and young people who suffer from them worldwide. And if bullying and cyberbullying attack, harm, and even kill without geographical limits, we will create a support system that will reach everywhere and will be called: Bullying Without Borders NGO. What color will distinguish the fight against bullying across the globe? It will be orange. The color of a wonderful fruit that arrived from distant China, where it has been cultivated for thousands of years, and from there spread throughout Southeast Asia and then across the Middle East thanks to the Silk Road. The Arabs introduced it to Europe through southern Spain in the 10th century. It reached Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, and the United States in the 19th century, and then South Africa and Australia, quickly encompassing the entire world. This is how Bullying Without Borders (BSF) will be, adopting orange as its symbol, because the color orange reflects joy and the will to endure; it is both flexible and firm. It is a color that illuminates and brings joy and confidence to those who wear it. The color orange is a gentle judge, positioned between furious red and implacable yellow. A kind of middle ground between passion and perfidy. If we were to eliminate orange from all the paintings and canvases of the great masters, the history of art would vanish. The sky above "The Scream," Edvard Munch's desolate painting, would fall. Without orange, there would be no eternal glory of the Egyptian tombs nor the extraordinary beard of Vincent van Gogh's self-portraits. Orange symbolizes the strength, affection, and trust that Bullying Without Borders (BSF) will offer in its global fight against bullying and cyberbullying. The color orange will be our color, now and forever. Formal Letter of Introduction of the NGO Bullying Without Borders (BSF) In Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA, on the 2nd day of May, 2012. Founder: Dr. Javier Miglino. Signatories: Members of the Multidisciplinary Team. Formal creation of the NGO Bullying Without Borders (BSF) This is how the story of Bullying Without Borders (BSF) begins. Over time, 80 more countries would join, and BSF's world headquarters would be established in Switzerland. At the time of its creation, Bullying Without Borders (BSF) received an average of 5,000 emails daily mentioning bullying situations. Later, with the creation of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and WhatsApp, thousands more cases of cyberbullying would be added. The messages were answered by collaborators who joined BSF every day. The official languages would be English, French, and Spanish, like UNESCO and UNICEF. In one of the weekly meetings in February 2012 with the 60 specialists from around the world who advise BSF—at that time via telephone and Skype, and now via Zoom—Dr. Javier Miglino said that it wasn't enough. Children between the ages of 4 and 18 would continue to die at a catastrophic rate if someone didn't do something to bring relief to boys and girls all over the planet. The responses from BSF's international specialists: The specialists promised to develop a solution within six months. Miglino then said, "Gentlemen, this is unacceptable. Every day that passes, children and adolescents are dying all over the world. We cannot wait six months." “What if your son or daughter were being bullied, to the point that their life was in danger? Would you also ask for six months to help them?” Miglino asked them. The Birth of World Anti-Bullying Day: Unable to sleep well during March and April, Dr. Miglino continued with the weekly meetings, but no new ideas emerged. Many governments, including the United States, Argentina, Mexico, Spain, Cuba, France, and Brazil, were annoyed with BSF. They didn't like the discussion about bullying, and even less the publicizing of the deaths of children due to this scourge. April 30, 2013: On April 30, 2013, Miglino was working alone in his studio when he saw a young mother walking past a large window overlooking the street, scolding her son. The mother, on the verge of tears, was demanding that the boy, about eight years old, be strong, that he hit his classmates, that he They were bothering him, and he shouldn't let himself be intimidated. "Bullying doesn't exist," he had told her. Miglino then had a powerful realization: The boys and girls who were being bullied were alone. No one believed them, no one could help them, not even their parents; their parents were desperate because they couldn't help their children. That boy or girl, already alone and sad, trembled, because the next day their tormentors would return. Fear was the third poison. Miglino thought: "Where there is loneliness, there must be friends. Where there is sadness, there must be joy. Where there is fear, there must be friends; joyful, strong, brave, and powerful. In this way, the poisons of bullying would be neutralized; in this way, adults and children alike, all together, could defeat bullying." That day, Dr. Javier Miglino created two of the most important slogans in the world in the fight against bullying: "Bullying is a problem for children that adults must solve." "Bullying feeds on three poisons: loneliness sadness and fear." "We cannot burden children with having to endure bullying and then having to solve it themselves," the founder of BSF had said. That same April 30th, it was necessary to finalize something else. The next international meeting of the BSF Multidisciplinary Team would be on Thursday, May 2, 2013. (Now we know that it would be a date etched in history). World Anti-Bullying Day arrives: 'World Anti-Bullying Day'. This is what I did: Miglino confessed years later that he had set that date as the deadline to bring about global change. The Mafalda that Quino had created in Buenos Aires was reaching all the children of France.' With Mafalda came the love and respect Argentinians had for education. She entered every classroom in France each day, telling children that studying could be fun and worthwhile. Then came the idea that would change everything: "That's when I felt I had found the solution. There was only one thing that could enter every school in the world one day, embrace the children, take care of them, and tell them: We are here to support you, to bring you joy and to defend you. A world day. World Anti-Bullying Day. May 2nd, World Anti-Bullying Day." Miglino admitted that he was incredibly fortunate to be completely alone when he created World Anti-Bullying Day, because when he finished writing that phrase, he couldn't stop a few tears from wetting the paper. That same May 1st, he notified more than 30,000 NGOs around the world by email about the creation of 'May 2nd. World Anti-Bullying Day'. Those who wished could join immediately. Not a minute could be wasted, because there were barely 24 hours left until the first: "MAY 2ND. WORLD DAY AGAINST BULLYING" MIGLINO continues: "Just 60 seconds after sending the first batch of emails worldwide, the first email arrived from South Korea. I was reading it when others started coming in. Several at first, then hundreds, then thousands. From Spain, France, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, the United States of America, France, Italy, Australia, South Africa, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Denmark, and Russia. That day, May 1st, a holiday because it was Labor Day in Argentina, Miglino kept opening the official BSF email himself. All of Western Europe had joined, practically all the countries of Africa and Asia. That evening, China and Cuba joined. Everyone who signed up to support 'World Day' was excited and happy. They wanted to know how it had been done? Who had done it? And most importantly of all: they wanted to be part of 'May 2nd. World Day Against Bullying. May 2, 2013: At dawn on May 2, 2013, the international network CNN and CNN en Español announced, through Emmy Award-winning journalist Carlos Montero: "Today, May 2nd, is World Anti-Bullying Day. Our motto today is: What can we do about bullying? The idea that was born around a table covered in papers and a huge mess had become a reality that was traveling the world. Friendship had displaced loneliness. Joy had triumphed over sadness. Courage had crushed fear. The meeting of the International Multidisciplinary Team of Bullying Without Borders (BSF), on May 2nd, 2013, was a meeting of surprise, of asking how and when the small miracle of creating, just like that, a day of global reach had occurred. Soon it was a time for celebration, for hugs from afar, for shouts of joy, for tears of emotion, and finally, for a toast to success. Bullying Without Borders (BSF) had done it. The many sleepless nights and hours of work of its founder had borne fruit. Bullying Without Borders (BSF) had created the first world calendar in history that focuses on children who study and go to school. Bullying Without Borders, its international team of collaborators, and a handful of other people had done in just a few days what no one in the world had done in the last 100 years: to promote education and combat bullying. UNESCO'S APPROVAL: In 2016, the proposal reached the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), headquartered in Paris, France. UNESCO takes 25 years to analyze each proposal submitted. To give you an idea, World Radio Day was approved after 70 years. They wouldn't wait 25 years. The vote was going to take place right then and there. 'May 2nd, World Day Against Bullying' was formally approved by UNESCO. It had taken them less than 40 minutes to approve it. THE HISTORIC WORLD DAY AGAINST BULLYING WAS BORN: Starting in 2013, May 2nd was established as World Anti-Bullying Day, following a presentation in Buenos Aires by the founder of the international NGO Bullying Without Borders. This presentation notified more than 30,000 non-governmental organizations worldwide, aiming to raise awareness about the risks of bullying and methods for preventing violence in schools, as well as to establish a protocol for addressing such cases. In 2016, this initiative was approved by UNESCO and subsequently recognized first by the Parliaments of Spain, Uruguay, and Argentina. Later, almost all countries in Latin America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and Africa joined the initiative. The proposal, spearheaded by Dr. Javier Miglino, proclaimed the need to create “a day when all children in the world can feel that for 24 hours someone listens to them, understands them, embraces them, and protects them as they leave school, while they are in class, and as they go home. A day that says clearly and loudly: bullying is wrong; it ruins and destroys lives.” And what has happened since then? As of today, World Bullying Day is celebrated in 180 countries across five continents. Two billion children, adolescents, and young people look forward to May 2nd to celebrate World Bullying Day in their classrooms. World Definition of Bullying: What is bullying? According to the definition agreed upon by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the international NGO Bullying Without Borders, bullying is any repeated intimidation or physical, psychological, or sexual aggression against a school-aged child or adolescent that causes harm, fear, and/or sadness in the victim or a group of victims. "I had chosen May 2nd of each year because it is a school day in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, in the East and the West. A regular school day. A day that also commemorated the founding of Bullying Without Borders (May 2nd, 2012). I imagined a boy in Mexico arriving at school and seeing on the blackboard: “World Day Against Bullying.” In Argentina, students were writing essays about bullying; the topic was: “World Day Against Bullying.” In the United States, a song against bullying was sung in honor of “World Day Against Bullying.” In Spain, an anti-bullying fair was held to celebrate “World Day Against Bullying.” In France, there were drawings against bullying, commemorating “World Day Against Bullying.” In England, Italy, Germany, South Korea, Australia, Thailand, China, Japan, South Africa, and Senegal, bullying was being discussed because that day, rain or shine, hot or cold, is "World Anti-Bullying Day." It would seem, then, that bullying is neither acceptable nor tolerable. Virtually every single thought and idea mentioned materialized, because by making "World Anti-Bullying Day" public, as a simple citizen proposal, in the media outlets that follow BSF and through our emails, word of mouth, and the social networks that existed at the time, we received endorsements from more than 30,000 NGOs based in 30 countries. Then more and more joined. As of May 2, 2022, 180 countries declare: Today, May 2, is "World Anti-Bullying Day," and this commemoration is present in all primary and secondary schools, public and private, and in all universities around the world. World Anti-Bullying Day has saved millions of lives worldwide. "In these nine years of 'World Anti-Bullying Day,' we have received more than 2 million testimonies from children and young people who were going to take their own lives but didn't, or who were thinking about self-harm, dropping out of school, or taking justice into their own hands. Millions of parents contacted us, overjoyed to see their sons or daughters emerge from the neglect and depression caused by bullying after learning about the May 2nd commemoration. And millions of teachers now know how to confront and defeat the 'monster' called bullying. The battle continues: There were and are millions of young people who have apologized to us and to their victims because they realized they were the perpetrators of bullying and that their actions were harming others. According to their own accounts, they apologized and never did it again. That beloved May 2nd, which began at a table piled high with papers, in complete solitude and with sleep deprivation, has become a day of fraternity and joy, uniting all students, all parents, all administrators, and all teachers on the planet. In every language, in every country, on every continent. All together against bullying. Bullying existed and still exists. Bullying harms and can even take lives. We all know this now, and perhaps this is the best tribute to those who are no longer with us, to their parents, their families, and their friends. Poco después de esta presentación, la UNESCO recogió el planteo y dejó de lado los 25 años mínimos que requiere el estudio para tratar el tema en el recinto; para dar una idea, el "Día Mundial de la Radio", llevó 70 años para aprobarse. Y en solo 40 minutos fue aprobado el "Día Mundial contra el Bullying". Había nacido una de las 24 efemérides mundiales que deben conmemorarse cada año en todos los rincones del planeta. La primera efemérides que tiene como objetivo primordial a todos y cada uno de los estudiantes del planeta, tanto primarios, secundarios como universitarios. Desde los 3 a los 25 años. Por eso el 2 de mayo, sal para la escuela con algo naranja, una prenda de vestir, un cuaderno o una mochila. Y recuerda hablar en clase de este tema. Invita a tus padres, a tus maestros, a compañeros y compañeras. El "Día Mundial contra el Bullying" es de 'código abierto', nunca nadie pagará o cobrará derechos por él. Su creador insistió en que así sea: una jornada de alegría y de respeto, gratis y libre, para todos en el todo el mundo. ¿Qué paso a partir del día dos de mayo de 2013? A las pocas horas de su presentación oficial, el Día Mundial contra el Bullying comenzó a dar señales de vida. Al principio fueron un puñado de ONGs pero en solo dos días más de 30.000 organizaciones en todo el mundo, celebraron la gesta y pidieron formalmente incorporarse a la efemérides. A partir de su aprobación y masificación, el Día Mundial Contra el Bullying, está presente en todos los calendarios escolares alrededor del Planeta. El Senado de España se suma formalmente a la Iniciativa de la ONG Internacional Bullying Sin Fronteras: "Dos de Mayo. Día Mundial contra el Bullying". Dos de Mayo de 2017. España así, se suma al Dia Mundial contra el Acoso Escolar o Bullying. A partir del dos de mayo de 2022, nada menos que 180 países del planeta se incorporan al: "Dos de Mayo. Día Mundial Contra el Bullying". "May 2nd. World Bullying Day". "Deux de Mai. Journée Mondiale Contre le Harcèlement". ¿Cómo nació el Día Mundial Contra el Bullying? "El bendito Día Mundial Contra el Bullying nació en la espontaneidad, en la esperanza y en la buena fé de un soñador, que cree que las cosas pueden cambiar para bien con un poco de buena voluntad y esfuerzo". Dr. Javier Miglino. La ONG Bullying Sin Fronteras fue creada por el Dr. Javier Miglino, Abogado Argentino, Experto en Asuntos de Derechos Humanos y Protección de la Niñez, el 2 de mayo de 2012. Miglino había desarrollado parte de su carrera profesional en Paris, Francia, donde trabajo en Derechos Humanos junto a la Coordinación de bienvenida a familias de refugiados (Coordination de l'accueil des familles réfugiées) y otras ONGs de trascendencia mundial. En ese momento, fue posible para el especialista, tomar contacto de primera mano con el sufrimiento de las familias refugiadas y en particular de los chicos de entre 1 y 18 años. Cómo padecían el descalabro de dejar sus hogares en Chechenia, en México, en Indonesia, en Vietnam, en Nigeria, en Rwanda y otros países. Con esa experiencia, Miglino formó un equipo profesional interdisciplinario al regresar a la Argentina, afirmando que era necesario hacer algo contra el bullying, porque no existía en el planeta un freno institucional para esa mal en ninguna parte. De ese gen nacería la ONG más importante del planeta contra el bullying y el ciberbullying: la ONG Internacional Bullying Sin Fronteras. Miglino dijo: Si el bullying o acoso escolar y el ciberbullying o acoso cibernético no descansan, aquellos que defendemos a los niños, adolescentes y jóvenes que lo padecen en todo el mundo, tampoco descansaremos. Y si el bullying y el ciberbullying atacan, dañan e incluso llegan a matar sin límites geográficos, crearemos una ayuda que llegará a todas partes y se llamará: ONG Bullying Sin Fronteras. Este será el punto de apoyo de miles e incluso de millones de en todo el planeta, que ya no serán víctimas de acoso que sufrirán en soledad, sino que contarán con una mano amiga que les de valor, les muestre cuánto valen y los acompañe en esa negra y larga noche que es el bullying. Todos aquellos que padecen un daño relacionado con el bullying y el ciberbullying en cualquier lugar, estén donde estén, sabrán que la ayuda nunca será limitada por fronteras ni husos horarios, llegando a todos los confines de la Tierra. Las 24 horas del día, los 365 días del año. Solo así crearemos el cambio que más de 2.000 millones de niños y jóvenes en los cinco Continentes, necesitan. Solo así cambiaremos al mundo para bien. Solo de ese modo lograremos producir el cambio que el mundo necesita. La soledad, la tristeza y el miedo: A partir de la creación del 'Día Mundial contra el Bullying', ya no dirán que la soledad, la tristeza y el miedo pudieron con ese joven o ese niño. Dirán que hubo valientes que un día dijeron: ¡Basta a la violencia! Entonces y solo entonces podremos decir que luchamos por proteger el Primer Derecho Humano que es el Derecho a la Vida. Entonces y solo entonces ganaremos el respeto de aquellos que hoy siendo pequeños y débiles, necesitan de nuestra ayuda para que cuando mañana cuando sean grandes y fuertes, puedan pensar al cruzarnos, ya con más años, más canas y más arrugas: '- Ese hombre o esa mujer, cuando yo era pequeño me ayudó en la escuela, en el instituto o en la universidad. Estaba a punto de tirar todo por la borda, incluso mi vida pero no fue así. Pude seguir adelante y tener éxito. Ese hombre o esa mujer me enseñaron que se podía contra el bullying y no solo eso, sino que también me acompañaron. Me di cuenta de que ya no estaba solo/a. Entonces supe que iba a triunfar y que un día yo también podría ser parte de esos valientes que llevarían este mensaje contra el acoso, contra la violencia y contra el miedo". ¿Cuál será el color que distinguirá la lucha contra el bullying en todo el planeta? Será el color naranja. El color de una fruta maravillosa que llegó desde la lejana China, donde se cultiva desde hace miles de años, desde donde se extendió por todo el Sudeste asiático y luego por todo Oriente merced a la Ruta de la Seda. Los árabes la introdujeron en Europa por el sur de España en el siglo X. Para llegar a Brasil, Argentina, México y los Estados Unidos de América en el siglo XIX, para luego pasar a Sudáfrica y Australia; abarcando en poco tiempo el mundo entero. Así será Bullying Sin Fronteras, que tomará como enseña el naranja, porque el color naranja refleja la alegría y la voluntad de permanecer en el tiempo, es flexible y firme a la vez. Es un color que ilumina y confiere alegría y confianza a aquel que lo usa. El color naranja es un juez amable que se coloca entre el rojo furioso y el implacable amarillo. Una especie de término medio entre la pasión y la perfidia. Si por caso elimináramos el naranja de todos los cuadros y los lienzos de los grandes maestros, la historia del arte desaparecería. Se caería el cielo que está sobre "El grito", la desoladora pintura de Edvard Munch. Sin naranja no habría la eterna gloria de las tumbas egipcias ni la barba extraordinaria de los autorretratos de Vincent van Gogh. El naranja simboliza la fuerza, el cariño y la confianza que dará Bullying Sin Fronteras en su lucha planetaria contra el bullying y el ciberbullying. El color naranja será nuestro color, ahora y siempre. Carta Formal de Presentación de la ONG Bullying Sin Fronteras. En Buenos Aires, REPÚBLICA ARGENTINA, a los 2 días del mes de Mayo del año 2012. Fundador: Dr. Javier Miglino. Firmantes. Integrantes del Equipo Multidisciplinario. Creación formal de la ONG Bullying Sin Fronteras. Así empieza la Historia de Bullying Sin Fronteras Con el tiempo, se agregarían 80 países más y la sede mundial de BSF se instalaría en Suiza. Bullying Sin Fronteras recibía, al momento de su creación, un promedio de 5.000 correos electrónicos diarios mencionando situaciones de bullying. Luego, con la creación de Facebook, Twitter, Instagram y WhatsApp, se agregarían miles de casos de ciberbullying. Los mensajes eran contestados por colaboradores que se unían a BSF todos los días. Los idiomas oficiales serían inglés, francés y español, como la UNESCO y la UNICEF. En una de las reuniones semanales del mes de febrero de 2012 con los 60 especialistas de todo el mundo que asesoran a BSF, en ese momento vía telefónica y Skype y hoy vía Zoom; el Dr. Javier Miglino dijo que no era suficiente. Los chicos de entre 4 y 18 años seguirían muriendo a un ritmo catastrófico si alguien no hacía algo para llevar alivio a los chicos y chicas de todo el planeta. Las respuestas de los especialistas internacionales de BSF: Los especialistas prometieron pensar una solución en seis meses. Miglino dijo entonces; "-Señores: esto es inaceptable. Cada día que pasa están muriendo niños y niñas y adolescentes en todas partes del mundo. No podemos esperar seis meses". "-¿Qué pasaría si tu hijo o tu hija sufriera bullying, de modo que su vida esté en peligro? ¿También pedirías seis meses para ayudarlo?, les dijo Miglino. El nacimiento del Día Mundial Contra el Bullying: Sin poder dormir bien en los meses de marzo y abril, el Dr. Miglino continuó con las reuniones semanales pero nunca surgía una idea. Incluso muchos gobiernos, incluidos los Estados Unidos de América, la República Argentina, México, España, Cuba, Francia y Brasil; estaban molestos con BSF. No les gustaba que se hable de bullying y menos que se haga público que había muertes de niños y niñas por ese flagelo. 30 de abril de 2013: El 30 de abril de 2013, Miglino estaba trabajando solo en su estudio, cuando vio pasar por una gran ventana que da a la calle, a una joven madre que venía retando a su hijo. La mamá, al borde del llanto, le exigía al chico de unos ocho años, que sea fuerte, que golpee a sus compañeros que lo molestaban y que no se deje amedrentar. " -El bullying no existe", le había dicho. Miglino visualizó una idea entonces que lo golpeó; Los chicos y chicas que padecían bullying estaban solos. Nadie podía les creía, nadie podía ayudarlos, ni siquiera sus padres; éstos se hallaban desesperados porque no podían ayudar a sus hijos. Y ahí surgió uno de los tres venenos que nutren al bullying: la soledad. Nadie que padece bullying está feliz. La congoja lo acompaña todo el día y toda la noche. No duerme bien, no puede comer y la vida va perdiendo sentido. El segundo veneno había sido descubierto: la tristeza. Por último, el chico o la chica no podía contarle a sus padres que sufría bullying porque tal vez recibiría un reto, un enojo o hasta una humillación. Ese chico o esa chica, que ya estaban solos y tristes, temblaban, porque al día siguiente sus torturadores volvían a la carga. El miedo era el tercer veneno. Miglino pensó: "donde hay soledad, tiene que haber amigos. Donde hay tristeza, tiene que haber alegría. Donde hay miedo, tiene que haber amigos; alegres, fuertes, valientes y poderosos. De ese modo los venenos del bullying quedarían anulados, de esa manera los más grandes y los chicos; todos juntos, podrían vencer al bullying". Ese día, el Dr. Javier Miglino creó dos de las consignas más importantes que existen en el planeta en la lucha contra el bullying: "el bullying es un problema de chicos que deben resolver los grandes". "el bullying se nutre de tres venenos: la soledad la tristeza y el miedo No podemos cargar a los chicos con que deben padecer bullying y además deben solucionarlo ellos mismos, había dicho el Fundador de BSF. Ese mismo 30 de abril, era menester cerrar algo más. La próxima reunión internacional del Equipo Multidisciplinario de BSF sería el jueves 2 de mayo de 2013. (ahora sabemos que sería una fecha que quedaría grabada en la Historia). Llega el Día Mundial Contra el Bullying: 'Día Mundial Contra el Bullying'. Así lo hice: Miglino confesó años después que él mismo se había puesto esa fecha como límite para producir un cambio mundial. Decía el Dr. Javier Miglino en una entrevista para CNN en Español: 'Así creé el Dos de Mayo, Día Mundial contra el Bullying': " -Pensé que ya tenía algo. La soledad, la tristeza y el miedo dan volumen al bullying. Por eso el bullying y el ciberbullying, enferman y matan. Desde la definición del insigne Dan Olweus, todos sabemos como comienza el acoso escolar (un golpe, un insulto, el robo de útiles, una humillación), pero nadie en el mundo había podido establecer que lo hacía tan fuerte y temible. Hace 50 años había bullying pero entonces no mataba a los chicos y adolescentes. ¿Entonces, por qué hoy sí lo hace? Miglino se hacía esas terribles preguntas en absoluta soledad. Y era menester encontrar respuestas. "La soledad, la tristeza y el miedo dan volumen criminal al bullying y al ciberbullying. Eso es un avance que tal vez cambie la historia. Ya conocemos al enemigo, gracias a Olweus y ya sabemos cuales son sus armas. En general cuando identificamos a un enemigo, por mortal que este sea, comenzamos a derrotarlo. ¿Pero cuál es la 'vacuna' contra el bullying y contra el ciberbullying? ¿Cómo hago que chicos y adolescentes que están en la India, en Colombia, en España, en Sudáfrica y en Australia, sepan que estamos ante un enemigo mortal que puede matarlos? ¿Cómo los protegemos, cómo los ayudamos y en suma y lo más difícil de todo: cómo les explicamos que estamos salvándoles la vida? Los chicos tienen que sentir que hay amigos en el mundo, que los abrazan, que los quieren y que se comprometen a cuidarlos. Cuando van para la escuela, cuando están en la escuela y cuando salen de la escuela. ¿Cómo se ingresa al aula en una escuela primaria o secundaria y se les dice a los chicos y chicas este mensaje? Es imposible hacerlo, en solamente una escuela, sin ir preso. Imaginen entonces; ¿cómo podríamos hacer para entrar en todas las aulas de todas las escuelas del mundo?". Todo parece una broma pero sin gracia". 1 de mayo de 2013: El autor del Día Mundial contra el Bullying, admitió entonces que todo parecía una reflexión de Mafalda, pero no resultaba gracioso en lo más mínimo. Sin embargo en ese momento, Miglino recordó a Mafalda, la historieta, también mundial, del argentino Joaquín Lavado, Quino. "Cuando vivía en Paris, una vez que tuve todo arreglado con las ONGs de Derechos Humanos que contaban conmigo para el trabajo, fue menester que Javier, mi hijo de cinco años, vaya a l'école maternelle (preescolar) y luego a l'école élémentaire (primaria), en el Distrito XVIII en Paris, conocido universalmente como Quartier de Montmartre. Los cuadernos de la Mairie de Paris tenían un regalo: La tarde de septiembre del primer día de clases, Javier vino contento y me mostró varios cuadernos nuevos. La Mairie de Paris (Ayuntamiento), tiene por costumbre dar los mismos útiles, en forma gratuita, a todos los estudiantes. Cuadernos, lápices y otros, de modo tal que todos tengan los mismos elementos y sin costo alguno. Así es la educación de Francia. MIGLINO dice: ' - Los cuadernos eran normales, bellamente forrados de colores rojo, azul y verde. Los miré y pensé, qué buena idea esta de dar los mismos útiles y en forma gratuita a todos los estudiantes. Sin embargo, más allá de fantástica educación francesa, algo más me llamó la atención. En el reverso de los cuadernos, sobre la esquina izquierda, había un dibujo. Era Mafalda. Nuestra Mafalda. La Mafalda que había creado Quino en Buenos Aires, llegaba a todos los chicos de Francia. Con Mafalda, llegaba también el amor y el respeto de los argentinos por la educación, entraba cada día en cada una de las aulas de Francia y les decía a los chicos, que estudiar podía ser divertido y bueno. Llega la idea que lo cambiaría todo: "Fue entonces que sentí que había dado con la solución. Solo había algo que podía ingresar un día a todas las escuelas del mundo, abrazar a los chicos, cuidarlos y decirles: acá estamos para acompañarte, para darte alegría y para defenderte. Un día mundial. El día mundial contra el bullying. El dos de mayo, el día mundial contra el bullying". Miglino admitió que tuvo la enorme fortuna de encontrarse completamente solo al momento de crear el día mundial contra el bullying, porque cuando terminó de escribir esa frase, no pudo evitar que algunas lágrimas mojen el papel. Ese mismo 1 de mayo, notificó por correo electrónico a más de 30 mil ONGs en todo el planeta sobre la creación del 'Dos de Mayo. Día Mundial contra el Bullying'. Aquellos que lo deseaban, podían sumarse de inmediato. No podía perderse un minuto, porque quedaban apenas 24 horas para el primer: "DOS DE MAYO. DÍA MUNDIAL CONTRA EL BULLYING"  Continúa MIGLINO: "A solo 60 segundos de enviar la primera parte de los correos a todo el mundo, llegó el primer correo de Corea del Sur. Lo estaba leyendo y llegaban otros. Varios primero, luego cientos, a poco miles. De España, Francia, Brasil, Colombia, Chile, Perú, Ecuador, México, Estados Unidos de América, Francia, Italia, Australia, Sudáfrica, Costa del Marfil, Marruecos, Finlandia, Suecia, Noruega, Suiza, Dinamarca y Rusia. Ese día, primero de mayo y festivo por ser el día del trabajador en Argentina, Miglino siguió abriendo, él mismo, el correo oficial de BSF. Se había adherido toda Europa Occidental, prácticamente todos los países de Africa y Asia. Por la noche se sumaron China y Cuba. Todos aquellos que firmaban adherirse al 'día mundial', estaban emocionados y felices. Querían saber cómo se había hecho? Quién lo había hecho? Y lo más importante de todo: querían formar parte del 'Dos de Mayo. Día Mundial contra el Bullying'. Dos de mayo de 2013: Con las primeras luces del 2 de mayo de 2013, la cadena internacional CNN y CNN en Español anunciaba, a través del periodista multipremiado con el Emmy; Carlos Montero: "-Hoy dos de mayo es el día mundial contra el bullying. Nuestra consigna de hoy es: ¿qué podemos hacer contra el bullying?. La idea que había nacido en una mesa con muchos papeles y un enorme desorden, se había convertido en una realidad que estaba viajando por todo el planeta. - La amistad había desplazado a la soledad. - La alegría habían vencido a la tristeza. - El valor había aplastado al miedo. La reunión del Equipo Multidisciplinario Internacional de Bullying Sin Fronteras, del día 2 de mayo de 2013 fue la reunión de la sorpresa, de preguntar cómo y cuándo había ocurrido el pequeño milagro de crear, así como si nada, un día de alcance mundial. A poco fue la cita del festejo, del abrazo a la distancia, de los gritos de alegría, del llanto emocionado y por fin del brindis por el éxito. Bullying Sin Fronteras lo había logrado. Las muchas horas de insomnio y de trabajo de su fundador, habían dado frutos. Bullying Sin Fronteras había creado la primera efemérides mundial en la Historia que hace foco en los chicos que estudian y van a la escuela. Bullying Sin Fronteras, su Equipo Internacional de colaboradores y un puñado de personas más, habían hecho en pocos días, lo que nadie había hecho en el mundo, en los últimos 100 años, a favor de la educación y contra el bullying. LA APROBACIÓN DE LA UNESCO: En el año 2016, el planteo llegaría a las Naciones Unidas para la Educación (UNESCO), con sede en Paris, Francia. La UNESCO toma 25 años para analizar cada planteo presentado. Para dar una idea, el 'Día Mundial de la Radio', se aprobó luego de 70 años. No se esperarían 25 años. Se iba a votar en ese momento. 'El Dos de Mayo. Día Mundial contra el Bullying' era formalmente aprobado por la UNESCO. Habían tardado en aprobarlo menos de 40 minutos. EL HISTÓRICO DÍA MUNDIAL CONTRA EL BULLYING HABÍA NACIDO: A partir del año 2013, el 2 de mayo fue establecido como el Día Mundial contra el Bullying, luego de una presentación en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, del fundador de la ONG Internacional Bullying Sin Fronteras; que notificó a más de 30.000 organizaciones no gubernamentales de todo el mundo, con el objeto de concientizar sobre los riesgos del acoso escolar y los métodos para evitar la violencia en los centros educativos, y poder establecer un protocolo de actuación ante los casos. En el año 2016, esta iniciativa fue aprobada por la UNESCO y posteriormente reconocida en primer lugar por los Parlamentos de España, Uruguay y la República Argentina. Luego se sumarían casi todos los países de América Latina, Europa, Asia, Oceanía y Africa. La propuesta que fue impulsada por el Dr. Javier Miglino, proclamaba la necesidad de crear “un día en el que todos los chicos del mundo puedan sentir que por 24 horas alguien los escucha, los entiende, los abraza y los protege cuando están por salir de la escuela, cuando están en clase y cuando se marchan a casa. Un día que diga claro y fuerte: el bullying está mal; arruina y destruye vidas”. ¿Y qué pasó desde entonces? Al día de la fecha, el 'Día Mundial contra el Bullying'; 'World Bullying Day'; 'Journée Mondiale contre le Harcèlement'; se celebra en 180 países de los cinco continentes. 2.000 millones de niños, adolescentes y jóvenes, esperan el dos de mayo para festejar en las aulas de sus escuelas el "Día Mundial Contra el Bullying". Definición Mundial de Bullying: ¿Qué es el bullying? Según la definición consensuada entre la Organización Mundial de la Salud (O.M.S.) y la ONG Internacional Bullying Sin Fronteras, el bullying o acoso escolar es toda intimidación o agresión física, psicológica o sexual contra una persona en edad escolar en forma reiterada de manera tal que causa daño, temor y/o tristeza en la víctima o en un grupo de víctimas. Algo había cambiado para siempre, "Había elegido el dos de mayo de cada año porque se trata de un día en el que hay clases escolares en el Hemisferio Norte y el Hemisferio Sur, en Oriente y Occidente. Un día común para ir a la escuela. Un día que también conmemoraba el nacimiento de Bullying Sin Fronteras (dos de mayo de 2012). Imaginaba entonces que un chico en México llegaba a clases y en la pizarra decía: “Día Mundial Contra el Bullying”. En Argentina se hacía una redacción contra el Bullying; tema: "Día Mundial contra el Bullying". En Estados Unidos de América había se cantaba una canción contra el Bullying, en honor al "Día Mundial contra el Bullying". En España se hacía una feria contra el Bullying, motivada en celebrar el "Día Mundial contra el Bullying". En Francia había dibujos contra el Bullying, conmemorando el "Día Mundial contra el Bullying". En Inglaterra, Italia, Alemania, Corea del Sur, Australia, Tailandia, China, Japón, Sudáfrica y Senegal se hablaba del Bullying, porque justamente ese día, de sol o de lluvia, con frío o con calor es el "Día Mundial contra el Bullying". Se diría entonces que el bullying no es aceptable ni tolerable. Prácticamente todos y cada uno de los pensamientos y las ideas aludidas, se materializaron, porque al hacer público el "Día Mundial Contra el Bullying", como simple propuesta ciudadana, en los medios periodísticos que siguen a BSF y a través de nuestros correos electrónicos e incluso del ‘boca a boca’, y de las redes sociales que existían entonces; llegaron adhesiones de más de 30.000 ONGs instaladas en 30 países. Luego se sumaron más y más. A partir del dos de mayo de 2022 son 180 países los que dicen: Hoy dos de mayo es el “Día Mundial contra el Bullying” y esta efemérides está presente en todas las escuelas primarias y secundarias, públicas y privadas y en todas las universidades del planeta. El Día Mundial Contra el Bullying salvó millones de vidas en todo el planeta: "En estos nueve años de vida del “Día Mundial Contra el Bullying” hemos reicibido más de 2 millones de testimonios de niños, niñas y jóvenes que iban a quitarse la vida y no lo hicieron o que pensaban en torturarse, abandonar los estudios o salir a buscar justicia por mano propia. Nos contactaron millones de padres que pudieron ver con ojos felices como su hijo o su hija salía del abandono y la depresión causados por el Bullying a partir de tomar conocimiento de la existencia de la efemérides del 2 de mayo. Y millones de docentes que ahora saben cómo enfrentar y vencer al 'monstruo', llamado bullying. La batalla continúa: Hubo y hay millones de jóvenes, que nos piden perdón y les han pedido perdón a sus víctimas, porque se dieron cuenta de que eran causantes de bullying y que con sus actos, dañaban a otros. Según sus propios dichos, se disculparon y ya no lo hicieron nunca más. Ese querido Dos de Mayo, que nació en una mesa repleta de papeles, en la más completa soledad y con sueño atrasado, se convirtió en una jornada fraterna y de alegría, que une a todos los alumnos, todos los padres, todos los directivos y todos los maestros del planeta. En todos los idiomas, en todos los países, en todos los Continentes. Todos juntos contra el Bullying". El Bullying existía y existe. El Bullying daña y puede llegar a quitar la vida. Todos ahora lo sabemos y éste tal vez sea el mejor homenaje para aquellos que ya no están, para sus padres, para sus familias y para sus amigos. El Bullying aún no fue derrotado pero está bajo fuego y todos unidos ganaremos la batalla al final. Hoy es dos de mayo de 2022 y llegan a clases poco más de 2.000 millones de chicos y chicas de entre 6 y 17 años en todo el mundo. Para ellos, para sus padres, para los queridos docentes y para todos creamos el “Día Mundial Contra el Bullying”. Un día para soñar, para jugar, para divertirse, para escribir una poesía, para cantar una canción, para representar una obra de teatro, para hacer una pintura, un dibujo o una escultura, para escribir en el pizarrón o para hacer un cartel que diga fuerte y claro: el bullying está mal.
