PARIS — July 4 — JMH International Journalists Consortium The Canal Saint-Martin, in Paris's 10th arrondissement, was once again the scene of a tragedy following the discovery of the lifeless body of a man, estimated to be around 30 years old. This marks the second such incident in just one week in this area of the French capital. The body was found floating near the Quai de Valmy around 7:00 a.m. this Saturday. Firefighters and River Police units recovered the body; police sources reported that he was carrying no identification documents. The Canal Saint-Martin was partially opened for recreational activities in mid-June as part of measures adopted by Parisian authorities to cope with an intense heatwave. Since then, swimming has been permitted only on Sundays and within a specifically designated, supervised stretch of the canal.
