En un momento en que Francia estudia la prohibición de Instagram, Facebook, X (ex Twitter) y Whatsapp a menores de 16 años, tal como hizo Australia hace apenas unas horas; Emmanuelle Pouédras tuvo la deferencia de hablar con la Organización Mundial Bullying Sin Fronteras para contarnos su terrible historia.
Clément en Whatsapp e Instagram:
"Mi hijo había empezado su antepenúltimo año de secundaria en septiembre de 2024, cuando se suicidó en la región occidental de Bretaña".
Emmanuelle, comerciante de profesión, comenzó una febril investigación del teléfono inteligente de su hijo. Durante meses, intentó en vano contactar con las plataformas para averiguar si su hijo había sido víctima de ciberacoso y acabó encontrando 'rastros' en una de las '4 Tóxicas': Whatsapp en una copia de seguridad realizada por Clément, asegura a Bullying Sin Fronteras.
Entre los mensajes hallados en un grupo de la tóxica red social Whatsapp, propiedad de la empresa norteamericana Meta, encontró:
"¿Ya terminaste tu suicidio de mierda?", que recibió el adolescente antes de atentar contra sí mismo.
Para Emmanuelle las redes sociales esconden un algoritmo mortal:
Poco a poco, Emmanuelle descubrió que su hijo adolescente tenía una cuenta de Snapchat, Discord, Instagram y TikTok, esta última "creada con la tableta proporcionada por el centro escolar", donde el chico cursaba estudios.
Respuestas parciales de las redes sociales:
La mujer contactó a estas cuatro plataformas para acceder a los datos y sacar a la luz qué llevó a su hijo a suicidarse, pero sólo obtuvo 'respuestas parciales'.
Causa penal en trámite por la muerte de Clément:
El 19 de septiembre de 2025 los padres de Clément presentaron una denuncia ante la fiscalía por:
'incitación al suicidio'
'complicidad en ciberbullying'
'omisión de socorro' u homicidio por omisión.

En relación a estas cuatro redes sociales señaladas, está probado que manejan algoritmos que favorecen los mensajes de odio, automutilación, incitación a los desórdenes alimenticios como la anorexia y la bulimia y por fin a ideaciones suicidas.
Frances Haugen, ex alta gerente de Instagram declaró que la empresa, propiedad de Meta, está al tanto de esta situación y nada hace por remediarla.
Como una ayuda previa y un advertencia para el uso, la Organización Mundial Bullying Sin Fronteras estima prudente denominarlas como las '4 Tóxicas' debido al comportamiento señalado pero también a dos factores fundamentales:
Las '4 tóxicas':
- no cuentan con seres humanos suficientes que atiendan a las personas damnificadas para luchar contra el ciberbullying, eliminando los mensajes tóxicos
- no tienen planes en lo inmediato de cambiar su algoritmo, manteniendo el comportamiento tóxico
"He tenido comunicaciones directas con Instagram, Facebook, Whatsapp y X (ex Twitter) y les he pedido encarecidamente que en primer lugar cambien algunas políticas, solo algunas para empezar, que contribuyan a que chicos de apenas 13 años, adolescentes, jóvenes y adultos no caigan en la trampa del círculo interminable de mensajes de odio, imágenes de violencia, ideaciones suicidas y otros. También y como cada dos meses publican sus enormes ganancias empresariales y financieras, les he pedido que gasten solo un poco de lo ganan y coloque miles de empleados humanos de carne y hueso que puedan escuchar a las personas que piden ayuda en Instagram, Whatsapp, Facebook o X(ex Twitter). La respuesta siempre y en todos los casos ha sido nula", dijo el Dr. Javier Miglino, Experto en Derechos Humanos y Protección de la Niñez y Director Mundial de Bullying Sin Fronteras.

Emmanuelle, a shopkeeper by profession, began a frantic investigation of her son's smartphone. For months, he tried in vain to contact the platforms to find out if his son had been a victim of cyberbullying and ended up finding 'traces' on one of the 'Toxic 4': Whatsapp in a backup made by Clément, he tells Bullying Without Borders.
Among the messages found in a group on the toxic social network WhatsApp, owned by the American company Meta, was:
"Have you finished your shitty suicide yet?", which the teenager received before taking his own life.
For Emmanuelle, social media hides a deadly algorithm:
Little by little, Emmanuelle discovered that her teenage son had accounts on Snapchat, Discord, Instagram, and TikTok, the latter "created with the tablet provided by the school," where the boy was a student.
Partial responses from social media:
The woman contacted these four platforms to access the data and uncover what led her son to commit suicide, but she only received 'partial responses'. Criminal case pending regarding Clément's death:
On September 19, 2025, Clément's parents filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office for:
'incitement to suicide'
'complicity in cyberbullying'
'failure to provide assistance' or homicide by omission.

Regarding these four social media platforms, it has been proven that they use algorithms that promote hate speech, self-harm, incitement to eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia, and ultimately, suicidal thoughts.
Frances Haugen, former senior manager at Instagram, stated that the company, owned by Meta, is aware of this situation and is doing nothing to remedy it.
As a preliminary guide and warning, the World Organization Bullying Without Borders considers it prudent to call them the 'Toxic 4' due to the aforementioned behavior, but also because of two fundamental factors:
- They do not have enough staff to assist victims of cyberbullying and remove toxic messages.
- They have no immediate plans to change their algorithm, thus perpetuating the toxic behavior.
“I have been in direct contact with Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and X (formerly Twitter), and I have strongly urged them to change some policies—just a few to start—to help prevent children as young as 13, teenagers, young adults, and adults from falling into the trap of the endless cycle of hate messages, images of violence, suicidal thoughts, and other issues. Also, since they publish their enormous business and financial profits every two months, I have asked them to spend just a fraction of their earnings and hire thousands of real people who can listen to those seeking help on Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook, or X (formerly Twitter). The response has always been nonexistent,” said Dr. Javier Miglino, Human Rights and Child Protection Expert and Global Director of Bullying Without Borders.
