„Heute Morgen haben wir schreckliche Nachrichten aus Kanada erhalten“, schrieb Merz auf seinem Twitter-Account und bezog sich dabei auf den Amoklauf an der Tumbler Ridge High School, der „zahlreiche Menschenleben gefordert hat“.
„Es hat uns zutiefst erschüttert. Unsere Gedanken sind bei den Menschen in Tumbler Ridge, die um ihre Angehörigen, Freunde und Lieben trauern. Ich wünsche den Verletzten eine schnelle Genesung“, fügte der deutsche Regierungschef hinzu.
„Die Weltorganisation ‚Mobbing ohne Grenzen‘ drückt ihr tiefes Mitgefühl angesichts dieser Tragödie aus, die Kanada und Schulen weltweit in tiefe Trauer gestürzt hat. Unsere Gedanken sind bei den Familien der Opfer von Tumbler Ridge, bei den Verletzten und im Gedenken an all jene, die auf tragische Weise ihr Leben verloren haben“, sagte Dr. Javier Miglino, Experte für Menschenrechte und Kinderschutz und globaler Direktor von BSF.

The World Organization Bullying Without Borders confirmed that numerous countries have expressed solidarity with Canada following the horrific shooting that has so far left 10 dead at Tumbler Ridge High School. Among them was German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, who officially stated:

"It has shaken us. Our thoughts are with the people of Tumbler Ridge, who are mourning the loss of their family, friends, and loved ones. I wish a speedy recovery to the injured," added the German head of government.
