The World Organization Bullying Without Borders confirms the suicide of Luca Walker, a talented 16-year-old student at the prestigious Sixth Form College, Hants, due to cyberbullying. While a student at his previous school, Lord Wandsworth College, Luca told his friends and girlfriend that he had joined a culture of “bully or be bullied” and that he was “ashamed of what he did for a living.”
Luca’s life: Luca Walker, 16, was a strong swimmer who was working as a lifeguard.
His parents, Scott Walker and Claire Sella, told BSF that they were unaware of his mental health problems and have since described it as an “invisible battle.”
An inquest at Winchester Coroner’s Court found that Luca was “surrounded by love and support.” He had a close group of friends and a romantic relationship with his girlfriend.
According to the inquest, no one knew of his plans or how severely his mental state had deteriorated.
He left his home in Yateley at 10 a.m. and drove to a train station in Hampshire.
Luca's phone was seized and investigated by the British Transport Police's digital forensics team.
It was discovered that he had written 14 messages to family and friends on his notes app saying "goodbye" and "I love you."
Luca told his friends that this culture (bullying or being bullied) had deeply affected him.
While at the same school, a friend of Luca's had also died on the train tracks exactly two years earlier.
The last message: Luca told his friends that he hadn't been well-received at university and that "it was clear the experiences of this death had affected him," the coroner said.
DS Gary Knight, of the British Transport Police, told BSF that the digital forensics teams' investigation found him using an AI chatbot at 12:30 a.m. to ask for suicide advice.
“It’s a very chilling and disturbing read,” he said.
“There was a bullying problem at his old school, and while it’s not unusual, it seems to have taken its toll.
“Being bullied and forced to become someone he didn’t want to be led to a growing sense of unhappiness and frustration for him.
“He was also affected by the death of another student and said he didn’t receive adequate support afterward.”
Wilkinson confirmed that the cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries and said Luca committed suicide.
Grace, Luca's girlfriend, told BSF:
“If you're not a bully, you're a bully.”
She spoke of incidents where he was bullied and hated not being kind because he himself tried not to be bullied.
Ms. Sella, Luca's mother, told the inquest in a statement: “He is very happy. He was surrounded by love and support.
“He cared about supporting those around him and was proud that people could share their struggles with him.”
In a tribute, Luca's family said: “Luca was a kind, gentle, and quiet man. Luca's family life is very stable; we are a very close-knit family.
He lived with me, his father, his younger sister, and four cats whom he adored. Luca is supported and surrounded by love.
“If you're not a bully, you're a bully.” Grace, Luca's girlfriend, said a lot about bullying and cyberbullying and how it silently kills. This case in England, the 12th country in the world for serious bullying cases (220,000), according to the latest 2026 World Bullying Statistics, compels us to work much harder and much more effectively in preventing and combating bullying. We have failed Luca, and we cannot do so again,” said Dr. Javier Miglino Helfenstein, Human Rights and Child Protection Expert and Global Director of Bullying Without Borders.

En un homenaje, la familia de Luca dijo: ‘Luca era un hombre amable, gentil y tranquilo. La vida familiar de Luca es muy estable, somos una familia muy unida.
Vivía conmigo, su padre, su hermana menor y cuatro gatos a los que adoraba. Luke está apoyado y rodeado de amor.
