Next May 2nd is World Day Against Bullying. In Cordoba, the City Council has announced that this event will be moved forward to Thursday, April 30th, with a day of talks, campaigns, and educational activities to raise awareness among citizens and students about this problem that affects the local, regional, national, and international levels.
The main focus of the day will be the talk "If I Had Spoke," which will take place at the Visitor Reception Center in Cordoba. The speaker will be rapper and lecturer Annarce, known as "The Rapper of Social Causes" and an activist against bullying and for respect for all people through his music. The Granada-born artist will share his personal experience as a victim of bullying, which he suffered severely during his childhood and adolescence, even contemplating suicide. He overcame this period and used music as therapy and a tool for raising awareness.
As announced by the Delegate for Education and Childhood in the Córdoba City Council, this is a "difficult but necessary" initiative that connects with young people "on a personal level" through relatable and emotional language, focusing particularly on psychological bullying. Two sessions will be held for secondary school, high school, and vocational training students in Córdoba. During the event, a manifesto will be read, and the "Córdoba Against Bullying" campaign will be launched, which will be promoted on city buses and in the media. In addition, approximately 400 blue scarves will be distributed among the participating students as a symbol of commitment and rejection of bullying.
"We want to address this problem and reduce the rate of school bullying. We must all get involved to find a solution, and Anarce's testimony aims to help students empathize and become aware of the need to act and seek help. Speaking out can change everything, and it's important that all students understand that silence is an obstacle," Ruiz added, explaining the objective of the initiative and emphasizing "the shared responsibility of the entire community of Córdoba."
