The World Organization Bullying Without Borders confirms another serious bullying incident in Florentino Ameghino, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. A 17-year-old boy was attacked with hot water by a classmate and suffered severe burns to his face and body.
Edmundo Simonetti High School:
The incident occurred last Tuesday at the Edmundo Simonetti High School, and the assaulted teenager was immediately taken to the Florentino Ameghino Municipal Hospital. Given the severity of his injuries, a transfer to the Burn Institute Hospital in the City of Buenos Aires is being considered.
The mother of the assaulted boy:
The mother of the assaulted boy told BSF that the attack is not an isolated incident but rather part of a pattern of bullying that has been ongoing for at least two years. Meanwhile, school authorities are turning a blind eye. According to witnesses who spoke to BSF, the latest incident began with an accidental brush during a physical education class outside the classroom, which subsequently escalated into a violent reaction from the female student towards the young man. Upon returning to the classroom, the student threw the contents of a thermos of hot water in her classmate's face, causing the severe burns mentioned.
The young man's mother filed a criminal complaint. The investigation is being led by prosecutor Matías Noverasco of the Juvenile Criminal Responsibility Court in the Junín Judicial Department. "I will go to the very end. I won't stop until the authorities make a decision," the young man's mother told BSF.
More to come.
