“Sadly, Darrell Sheets took his own life,” said his former co-star, Rene Nezhoda, in a video shared with TMZ and the International Consortium of Journalists JMH on Wednesday, April 22.
The cyberbullying of Darrell Sheets:
“Some guy was cyberbullying him lately,” Nezhoda explained, hoping that Sheets’s death would have a positive impact. “Just because they see us on TV doesn’t mean they know us. It doesn’t mean they know what we’re about. And that doesn’t give them the right to bully anyone.”
A month before his death, posts on the public Facebook page of Darrel Sheets, who died by suicide at age 67, explained that he was being cyberbullied.
Darrel's last words denounced the cyberbullying:
“Well, here is my cyberbully,” he wrote in a Facebook post on March 11. He explained that the man had been “bullying other small businesses in town using my name.”
Sheets claimed to have been the victim of a cyberattack and added, “I am so sorry and I am very upset about this. These people have ruined me and he said he would.”
The beloved reality TV star tragically took his own life on Wednesday, April 22, at his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
