La Policía de Los Angeles, LAPD, confirmó a Bullying Sin Fronteras
que una menor de edad, que por razones legales no ha sido identificada, se encuentra bajo custodia en relación al homicidio a golpes de Khimberly Zavaleta. La madre de Khim, Elma Chuquipa, confirmó la información a BSF.
La madre de Khimberly:
Elma manifestó a BSF que la chica arrestada es una de las estudiantes que aparecen en un video de la pelea y afirma que hay más estudiantes responsables de la muerte de su hija. El video ha resultado indispensable para conocer lo que ocurrió con la niña en Los Angeles.
“No solamente es ella la que la agredió, pues también hay un muchacho que la estaba ahorcando a mi Sharon (su otra hija). Y yo tan solo de pensar, ¿qué tal si a él se le pasaba la mano y no solamente mataba a una, sino también mataba a mi otra hija?”, dijo Elma entre lágrimas.

La familia de Khimberly asegura que la responsable no solo fue la estudiante detenida, sino que al menos hay cuatro más, y dicen que todos deben enfrentar la justicia.
Los golpes que mataron a Khimberly:
Khimberly sufrió una hemorragia cerebral, por lo que entró en coma y murió tras el ataque ocurrido el pasado 17 de febrero.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) confirmed to Bullying Without Borders that a minor, who for legal reasons has not been identified, is in custody in connection with the beating death of Khimberly Zavaleta. Khimberly's mother, Elma Chuquipa, confirmed the information to BSF.
Khimberly's mother:
Elma told BSF that the arrested girl is one of the students who appears in a video of the fight and claims that there are more students responsible for her daughter's death. The video has proven essential in understanding what happened to the girl in Los Angeles.
“It wasn’t just her who attacked her; there was also a boy who was choking my Sharon (her other daughter). And just thinking, what if he went too far and killed not only one of them, but also my other daughter?” Elma said through tears.
There are more people responsible: Khimberly’s family maintains that the person responsible wasn’t just the student who was arrested, but that there are at least four others, and they say that all of them must face justice.
The blows that killed Khimberly: Khimberly suffered a brain hemorrhage, which caused her to fall into a coma and die after the attack on February 17.
Bullying as the trigger for a fight: Khimberly got involved in a fight because of bullying to defend her sister Ema, who was being choked by another student, during a disturbance in the hallways of a school in Reseda, California, a family member said.

It manages the education of more than 538,000 students. To date, they have not issued an official statement regarding the arrest of Khimberly's alleged killer.
