The police investigation:
Investigators confirmed to BSF that the suspects, ages 14 and 15, acted out of resentment related to school bullying. One was arrested shortly after the shooting at San Jose National High School in Tacloban City, while the other later turned himself in.
The suspects were armed with a .38 caliber revolver and a 9mm pistol. The latter belongs to a police officer, a relative of one of the suspects, who is in custody.
"The two suspects walked straight into the classroom. Without saying a word, they started shooting," Colonel Allen Rae Co told Bullying Without Borders World Organization.
"Initially, it appears the motive for the crime was resentment stemming from school bullying."
At least 40 shots fired: Approximately 40 spent shell casings have been recovered at the crime scene, according to Co. In addition to the three fatalities, three people were wounded by gunfire and four others sustained injuries while attempting to flee, he added.
Investigators have found violent videos of one of the teenagers firing a weapon on his social media accounts, Co stated.
"These are very clear red flags... We're not blaming anyone, but if someone had been paying attention to these signs, this could have been prevented."
