BUENOS AIRES — JUNE 26 — International Consortium of Journalists — Journalist Ernestina Pais passed away a few minutes ago. Police sources confirmed to the JMH International Consortium of Journalists that the incident occurred at 7:25 PM (Argentina time); Ernestina was driving a Honda City and attempted to cross the tracks at the intersection of Sáenz Peña and El Cano while the crossing gate was down, at which point her vehicle was struck by a *Tren de la Costa* train.
Prosecutor María Paula Hertrig is handling the case and has ordered the review of security camera footage from the area. Firefighters, forensic experts, and police personnel worked at the scene.

Fuentes policiales confirmaron al Consorcio Internacional de Periodistas JMH que el hecho ocurrió a las 19:25, hora de Argentina cuando Ernestina conducía un Honda City cuando intentó cruzar las vías en la intersección de Sáenz Peña y El Cano con la barrera baja, momento en el que el vehículo fue embestido por una formación del Tren de la Costa.
La fiscal María Paula Hertrig interviene en el caso y ya ordenó el relevamiento de las cámaras de seguridad de la zona. En el lugar trabajaron bomberos, peritos y personal policial.
