The Provincial Court of Valencia sentenced Spanish footballer Rafa Mir to eight and a half years in prison for sexual assault and battery.
La sentencia, notificada este lunes y que aún no es firme, establece una pena de siete años de prisión por agresión sexual y 18 meses por lesiones. Además, impone una orden de alejamiento de la víctima por diez años y una indemnización total de 64.000 euros por daños físicos y morales.
Los hechos por los que fue condenado ocurrieron durante la madrugada del 1 de septiembre de 2024 en una vivienda situada en una urbanización de Bétera, en la provincia de Valencia.
Tras conocerse la resolución judicial, Rafa Mir manifestó a través de sus redes sociales: "No estoy de acuerdo con la sentencia y recurriremos en los próximos días. Sigo confiando en la justicia".
La resolución puede ser recurrida ante instancias superiores.

The Provincial Court of Valencia sentenced Spanish footballer Rafa Mir to eight and a half years in prison for sexual assault and battery.
The sentence, issued this Monday and not yet final, establishes a seven-year prison term for sexual assault and 18 months for battery. It also imposes a restraining order against the victim for ten years and a total compensation of €64,000 for physical and emotional damages.
The events for which he was convicted occurred in the early morning of September 1, 2024, at a residence in a residential area of Bétera, in the province of Valencia.
After the court ruling was announced, Rafa Mir stated on his social media: "I do not agree with the sentence and we will appeal in the coming days. I continue to trust in justice." The decision may be appealed to higher authorities.

バレンシア州裁判所は、スペイン人サッカー選手ラファ・ミルに対し、性的暴行と暴行の罪で懲役8年6ヶ月の判決を下した。
