PARIS — June 28 — JMH International Journalists Consortium — A plane carrying several people for their first-time skydiving jump crashed in Tomblaine, Nancy (Meurthe-et-Moselle), resulting in 11 deaths.
Locals are in a state of shock:
Journalists from the JMH Consortium spoke with Tomblaine residents, who cannot believe what happened.
"Short flights are always taking place for skydiving students to make their first jumps. There have never been fatal accidents, so what happened this morning leaves us stunned," said Adele, a 35-year-old local resident.
"It was surely a mechanical failure. With good weather and good visibility, there is no other plausible explanation," stated Guillaume, another resident.

This crash, near the city of Nancy, ranks among the deadliest light-aircraft accidents to have occurred in France.
Interior Minister Laurent Nunez and Transport Minister Philippe Tabarot are scheduled to visit the crash site this afternoon.

Periodistas del Consorcio JMH pudo conversar con vecinos de Tomblaine y no pueden creer lo que ocurrió.
"Siempre se realizan vuelos cortos para que los alumnos de paracaidismo hagan su bautizo. Nunca han habido accidentes fatales así que lo ocurrido esta mañana nos deja asombrados", dijo Adele de 35 años, vecina del lugar.
"Seguramente fue una falla mecánica. Con buen tiempo y buena visibilidad no cabe otra hipótesis", manifestó Guillaume, otro vecino.

Este accidente, cerca de la ciudad de Nancy, se convierte en uno de los accidentes de aviación ligera más letales ocurridos en Francia.
Está previsto que el ministro del Interior, Laurent Nunez, y el ministro de Transportes, Philippe Tabarot, visiten el lugar del accidente esta tarde.
