1. IRÁN Y OMÁN AVANZAN HACIA UN ACUERDO SOBRE EL ESTRECHO DE ORMUZ

Irán y Omán avanzaron en las negociaciones destinadas a restablecer la navegación comercial por el estrecho de Ormuz, una de las principales rutas energéticas del mundo. Estados Unidos espera un acuerdo en breve y ha indicado que levantaría el bloqueo de los puertos iraníes si se restablece una navegación comercial sin impedimentos. Persisten diferencias sobre las condiciones de tránsito y eventuales tasas para los buques.

Iran and Oman have made progress in negotiations aimed at restoring commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's main energy routes. The United States expects an agreement soon and says it would lift its blockade of Iranian ports if unrestricted commercial navigation is restored. Differences remain over transit conditions and possible fees for vessels.

The U.S. economy unexpectedly lost 23,000 jobs in July, its first monthly decline in five months. The unemployment rate fell to 4.1%, largely because of a sharp drop in labor-force participation. The figures prompted markets to scale back expectations of a Federal Reserve rate hike in September.

El tifón Dolphin provocó fuertes vientos y lluvias en el sur de Japón, mientras las autoridades ordenaron la evacuación de cerca de 260.000 personas en Kagoshima y Okinawa. Más de 500 vuelos fueron cancelados y Toyota suspendió temporalmente la actividad en nueve plantas. El fenómeno amenaza también zonas de Kyushu que aún se recuperan de un reciente terremoto de magnitud 7,1.

Typhoon Dolphin brought powerful winds and heavy rain to southern Japan, prompting evacuation orders for nearly 260,000 people in Kagoshima and Okinawa. More than 500 flights were canceled and Toyota temporarily suspended operations at nine factories. The storm is also threatening parts of Kyushu still recovering from a recent magnitude 7.1 earthquake.

Taipéi sostiene que Pekín no tiene autoridad para imponer restricciones en aguas internacionales. La Guardia Costera taiwanesa informó que no detectó movimientos inusuales de buques chinos.

Taiwan rejected a Chinese order imposing traffic controls on vessels entering the Taiwan Strait during Typhoon Dolphin. Taipei said Beijing has no authority to impose restrictions in international waters. Taiwan's coast guard reported no unusual movements by Chinese vessels in the area.

La inflación minorista de India habría subido al 4,5% en julio, según las estimaciones de economistas, impulsada principalmente por el aumento de los precios de los alimentos. La cifra marcaría el segundo mes consecutivo por encima del objetivo medio del Banco de la Reserva de India, aunque todavía permanecería dentro de su banda de tolerancia.

India's retail inflation is estimated to have risen to 4.5% in July, driven mainly by higher food prices. It would mark the second consecutive month above the Reserve Bank of India's medium-term target, although inflation would remain within the central bank's tolerance band.
