この報告を執筆している現在、セウタでは社会的緊張が高まっている。数時間前、赤十字が食料を配布している最中、地元住民の一団がトランポリン・ビーチを襲い、移民らが建てた簡易小屋2棟に火を放った。数十個のリュックサックやタオル、その他の所持品が即席のたき火で焼け、機動隊が介入して双方を引き離すまで、火災が続いた。
死者が出なかったのは奇跡だった。
セウタでは緊張が空気中に漂っている。社会的な爆発が起きるのは時間の問題だ。

Hace unas horas, mientras la Cruz Roja repartía alimentos, un grupo de vecinos ha asaltado la Playa Trampolín para prender fuego a dos de las chabolas construidas por los migrantes. Decenas de mochilas, toallas y demás enseres han ardido en estas hogueras improvisadas, hasta que los antidisturbios han separado a los dos bandos.
De milagro no ha habido muertos.
La tensión en Ceuta se respira en el aire. Solo es cuestión de tiempo para que haya un estallido social.

Social tensions are escalating in Ceuta as this report is being written. A few hours ago, while the Red Cross was distributing food, a group of local residents stormed Trampolín Beach and set fire to two of the makeshift shelters built by migrants. Dozens of backpacks, towels and other belongings were burned in these improvised fires until riot police intervened and separated the two sides.
There were no fatalities, by a miracle.
Tension in Ceuta is palpable. It is only a matter of time before there is a social explosion.
