30歳のボリビア人女性、ローサ・ミカエラ・キピルドール容疑者が、東京国際空港を経由して日本に麻薬を持ち込んだ疑いで告発されている。捜査によると、容疑者は英国から渡航し、羽田空港に一人で到着した。
羽田空港の税関職員は容疑者の挙動を不審に思い、検査を行うことを決定した。X線検査の結果、体内から繭のような形をしたカプセル101個が発見された。
カプセルはプラスチックとゴムに似た黒い素材で包まれていた。包装された物質には合計で約1キログラムのコカインが含まれており、小売価格は15万2,160米ドルと推定されている。
日本の当局はさらに、南米を拠点とする麻薬密売組織が関与している可能性についても捜査している。この組織は、日本を密輸先の一つとしているとみられている。
日本では昨年、コカイン所持に関連する犯罪で415人が逮捕された。この数字は、10年前に記録された人数と比べて約10倍に増加している。

Las cápsulas estaban envueltas en plástico y en un material negro similar al caucho. En total, los envoltorios contenían aproximadamente un kilogramo de cocaína, cuyo valor de venta al por menor se estima en US$152.160.
Las autoridades japonesas investigan además la posible participación de una organización de narcotráfico con base en Sudamérica que tendría a Japón como uno de sus destinos.
En Japón, durante el año pasado, 415 personas fueron detenidas por delitos relacionados con la posesión de cocaína, una cifra que representa un aumento de casi diez veces respecto de la registrada una década atrás.

Haneda customs officials became suspicious of her behavior and decided to conduct an inspection. An X-ray scan detected 101 cocoon-shaped capsules inside her body.
The capsules were wrapped in plastic and a black, rubber-like material. In total, the packages contained approximately one kilogram of cocaine, with an estimated retail value of US$152,160.
Japanese authorities are also investigating the possible involvement of a South American-based drug trafficking organization that may have Japan among its destinations.
Last year, 415 people were arrested in Japan for offenses related to cocaine possession, a figure that represents an increase of nearly tenfold compared with the number recorded a decade earlier.
