En un comunicado, los organizadores desvincularon la marcha de cualquier partido político y apelaron a la unidad nacional para enfrentar la situación. The Ceuta disaster shows no signs of abating. As the death toll rises to 142, tens of thousands of citizens gathered this Sunday in Constitution Square in Ceuta to demand an immediate response from the authorities to the crisis facing the Spanish enclave in North Africa.
“Ceuta is not for sale. Ceuta is Spain,” demonstrators chanted, while others shouted, “Sánchez, resign!”
In a statement, organizers said the march was not affiliated with any political party and called for national unity to confront the situation. Along the same lines, Ceuta President Juan Vivas backed the rally “to make clear that the people of Ceuta will not give up.” “We will move forward,” he said.
