BSF confirms the deaths by suicide of two children in Mexico who apparently were experiencing cyberbullying. The first case occurred in Yucatán, involving a 13-year-old girl. The second occurred in Durango, involving a 13-year-old boy.
First fatal case in Yucatán:
The World Bullying Without Borders Organization regrets confirming the death by suicide of a 13-year-old girl who apparently was experiencing cyberbullying on social media.
The victim’s family, who live in Kanasín, Yucatán, are facing a tragedy after the girl’s mother discovered that her 13-year-old daughter had taken her own life.
Initial reports indicate that the girl’s mother, a secondary school student’s mother, returned from work to have dinner with her daughter.
When she arrived home, she found all the lights turned off. Upon going to the girl’s room, she turned on the light and found her daughter unconscious.
In a panic, the woman attempted to revive her daughter. When she was unable to do so, she went into the street to ask neighbors for help, and they alerted the authorities.
Minutes later, paramedics from the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) arrived and confirmed the death.
Kanasín police secured the area. Personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) and the State Investigative Police (PEI) subsequently arrived and told Bullying Without Borders that they were investigating a suspected case of cyberbullying.
Another fatal case in Durango:
The World Bullying Without Borders Organization also confirms another fatal case in the Amalia Solórzano neighborhood of the city of Durango. At approximately 4:15 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026, relatives arrived at a residence in the aforementioned neighborhood, where they found a 13-year-old boy unconscious and called the 911 emergency number.
Upon arrival, pre-hospital medical personnel conducted an initial assessment of the adolescent and determined that he had no vital signs. They subsequently notified the Durango State Attorney General’s Office.
Investigators took charge of the scene, gathering the relevant information and interviewing the family. Subsequently, following an order from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the body was transferred to the Forensic Medical Service for the legally required autopsy.
How can adolescent suicide be prevented?
The International Multidisciplinary Team of Bullying Without Borders confirms that suicide is a problem that develops over time and results from multiple causes. The mental health of adolescents is under pressure from social media, particularly what Bullying Without Borders refers to as “the 4 Toxic platforms”: Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and X (Twitter).
Warning signs for parents:
“When children talk about wanting to die, it is time to stop everything and listen to them. They are not putting on an act; they are asking for help and, in some way, warning that something very serious could happen. For this reason, it is essential to offer them immediate and continued help over a long period of time. When boys and girls question why they should live, say there is no hope or reason to be happy, or say that they are trapped or have become a burden; when they are unable to sleep, have unexplained outbursts of anger or are in a state of complete withdrawal, we are facing a dangerous situation that requires the immediate involvement of parents, family members and mental-health professionals. We still do not have a global code of conduct for preventing adolescent suicide, but we do have clear guidelines that can help save lives,” said Dr. Javier Miglino, Human Rights and Child Protection Expert and World Director of Bullying Without Borders.

BSF confirma la muerte de dos niños por suicidio en México que, en apariencia, sufrían ciberacoso. El primer caso ocurrió en Yucatán, con una niña víctima de apenas 13 años. El segundo, en Durango, con un niño también de 13 años.
Primer caso fatal en Yucatán:
La Organización Mundial Bullying Sin Fronteras lamenta confirmar la muerte por suicidio de una niña de 13 años de edad que, en apariencia, sufría ciberacoso o ciberbullying en las redes sociales.
La familia de la víctima, que vive en Kanasín, Yucatán, atraviesa una tragedia luego de que la madre descubriera que su hija adolescente, de 13 años, había terminado con su vida.
Los primeros reportes indican que la madre de la menor, estudiante de secundaria, regresó de su jornada laboral para cenar con su hija.
Al llegar a su casa, encontró todas las luces apagadas y, al dirigirse al cuarto de la joven, encendió la luz y la encontró inconsciente.
Presa del pánico, la mujer intentó reanimar a su hija, pero al no lograrlo salió a la calle para pedir ayuda a los vecinos, quienes avisaron a las autoridades.
Minutos después llegaron paramédicos de la Secretaría de Seguridad Pública (SSP), quienes confirmaron el fallecimiento.
Agentes de Kanasín aseguraron la zona y, posteriormente, arribó personal de la Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) y de la Policía Estatal de Investigación (PEI), que aseguró a Bullying Sin Fronteras que está trabajando en un presunto caso de ciberacoso.
Otro caso fatal en Durango:
La Organización Mundial Bullying Sin Fronteras también confirma que en la colonia Amalia Solórzano, en la ciudad de Durango, hubo otro caso fatal. Alrededor de las 16:15 horas de este viernes 23 de enero de 2026, familiares llegaron a un domicilio del asentamiento mencionado, donde encontraron a un menor de 13 años inconsciente y realizaron una llamada al número de emergencias 911.
Al arribar los profesionales de atención prehospitalaria, realizaron la evaluación inicial del adolescente y determinaron que ya no presentaba signos vitales, por lo que dieron aviso a la Fiscalía General del Estado de Durango.
La trilogía de la investigación se hizo cargo de la escena, recabando la información correspondiente y entrevistando a sus familiares. Posteriormente, por orden del Ministerio Público, se realizó el levantamiento y traslado del cuerpo al Servicio Médico Forense para la práctica de la necropsia de ley.
¿Cómo prevenir el suicidio adolescente?
El Equipo Multidisciplinario Internacional de Bullying Sin Fronteras confirma que el suicidio es un problema que se desarrolla en el tiempo y a partir de múltiples causas. La salud mental de los adolescentes está bajo ataque con la presencia de las redes sociales, en especial de las que en Bullying Sin Fronteras denominan como “las 4 Tóxicas”: Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp y X (Twitter).
Alertas para padres:
“Cuando los chicos hablan de que quieren morirse, es momento de dejar todo y escucharlos. No están llevando adelante una performance de actuación, están pidiendo ayuda y de alguna manera están alertando acerca de que algo muy malo puede pasar. Por eso es menester ofrecerles ayuda de inmediato y continuada durante un largo tiempo. Chicos y chicas que plantean que para qué vivir, no hay esperanza ni una razón para ser felices, o cuando manifiestan que están atrapados o que se han convertido en una carga, o sin posibilidad de conciliar el sueño, con arranques infundados de ira o en un estado de abandono total, estamos en una situación peligrosa que requiere de inmediato a los padres, a la familia y a los profesionales de la salud mental. Aún no tenemos un código mundial de comportamiento para prevenir el suicidio adolescente pero tenemos pautas claras que nos ayudarán a salvar vidas”, dijo el Dr. Javier Miglino, Experto en Derechos Humanos y Protección de la Niñez y Director Mundial de Bullying Sin Fronteras.

初期報告によると、中学生だった少女の母親は、仕事を終えて娘と夕食を取るため帰宅した。
自宅に到着すると、すべての照明が消えていた。少女の部屋へ向かい、明かりをつけたところ、娘が意識を失った状態でいるのを発見した。
パニックに陥った母親は娘を蘇生させようとしたが、できなかったため、近隣住民に助けを求めるため外へ出た。住民が当局に通報した。
数分後、公安事務局（SSP）の救急隊員が到着し、死亡を確認した。
カナシンの警察が現場を確保し、その後、州検察庁（FGE）と州捜査警察（PEI）の職員が到着した。捜査当局はBullying Sin Fronterasに対し、サイバーいじめの疑いがある事案について捜査していると説明した。
ドゥランゴ州での別の死亡事例：

捜査当局が現場を引き継ぎ、必要な情報を収集するとともに家族から事情を聴取した。その後、検察当局の指示により、遺体は法定解剖を行うため法医学医療機関へ搬送された。
青少年の自殺をどのように防ぐか？
