“The violent attack that shook Times Square in New York a few hours ago left two women dead: Erin Piacenti, a 32-year-old Bank of America vice president, who was stabbed at random, and Pamela Cisneros, the attacker, who died after being shot by two police officers as she advanced toward them wielding two knives.

Cisneros, a 49-year-old Queens resident, had no criminal record, but did have a short yet extensive mental health history that began with the 2020 pandemic. New York and the United States are paying every day, through attacks of this kind, the price of the silent but devastating mental health epidemic affecting the nation,” said Dr. Javier Miglino Helfenstein, Human Rights and Child Protection Expert and World Director of Bullying Sin Fronteras.

Times Square asistió a la muerte de dos mujeres esta tarde en una tragedia que dejó perplejos a todos. El hecho ocurrió en la calle 42 y la Séptima Avenida, una zona habitualmente concurrida de turistas, y que fue cerrada al público temporalmente.

Times Square witnessed the deaths of two women this afternoon in a tragedy that left everyone bewildered. The incident occurred at 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue, an area usually crowded with tourists, and which was temporarily closed to the public.

Una mujer de apariencia latina, con unos kilos de más y con un look informal donde destacaba un suéter rosa, se acercó con dos cuchillos a unas personas al azar y las atacó. Mató a una mujer e hirió a un hombre. De inmediato, un grupo de agentes la alcanzó y le ordenó soltar las armas, tras lo que le dispararon. La mujer recibió primero una descarga de una pistola taser y, después de amenazar a los agentes, dos disparos.

A Latina-looking woman, somewhat overweight and wearing a casual outfit highlighted by a pink sweater, approached some random people carrying two knives and attacked them. She killed a woman and injured a man. A group of officers immediately caught up with her and ordered her to drop the weapons, after which they shot her. The woman was first struck with a Taser and, after threatening the officers, was shot twice.

タイムズスクエアで31日午後、2人の女性が死亡する悲劇が起き、現場にいた人々を困惑させた。事件は観光客で普段から混雑している42丁目と7番街の交差点付近で発生し、現場は一時的に一般の立ち入りが禁止された。

ラテン系とみられる女性が、やや太めの体格で、ピンク色のセーターが目立つカジュアルな服装をして、2本のナイフを持って無差別に人々に近づき、襲撃した。女性1人を殺害し、男性1人を負傷させた。直ちに複数の警察官が女性に追いつき、武器を放すよう命じた後、発砲した。女性はまずテーザー銃による電気ショックを受け、その後、警察官を脅したため、2発の銃弾を受けた。
