LA PLATA, Argentina — “Goodbye, assholes. I’m leaving a game in my backpack. Whoever finds it can keep it.” Those were the last words written by 15-year-old Lara Tolosa before taking her own life during class.
The World Organization Bullying Sin Fronteras reported that Lara Tolosa, 15, died following an incident that occurred in August 2017 at Colegio Nacional Rafael Hernández, a school affiliated with the National University of La Plata. The organization maintains that the teenager had been subjected to bullying for approximately two years.
Dr. Javier Miglino, Worldwide Director of BSF, confirmed the girl’s death after several days in hospital and said the case prompted a legal filing seeking an investigation into possible institutional responsibility.
“Lara had endured a prolonged process of bullying. For that reason, we filed a complaint so that the courts could determine whether teachers, school administrators or students bore any responsibility,” Miglino said in remarks distributed by the organization.
Lara had made up her mind: she wanted to put an end to the hell her life had become because of bullying.
She had researched suicide-related material on internet forums and had written down a list of possible methods and their reported effectiveness. She was waiting for the moment. She could not endure it any longer, and it could have been that very Thursday… she did not know.
It was almost 8 a.m. and she was in class in one of the spacious classrooms on the second floor of Colegio Nacional Rafael Hernández in La Plata. A loud bang came from the neighboring classroom and, within seconds, screams filled the corridor. The teacher rushed toward the door, but suddenly geography teacher Marcela Amaro burst in, visibly distraught:
—A girl has just shot herself.
“Goodbye, assholes”
On the morning of Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017, Lara Tolosa took her grandfather’s .38-caliber revolver, placed it in her backpack, set her cellphone alarm for 7:50 a.m. and took the bus to school.
She sat at the back of the classroom, next to the wall, and before 8 a.m. shot herself in the head during geography class, in front of her classmates in 4th Year, Division 7, at Colegio Nacional Rafael Hernández of the National University of La Plata (CNLP).
She was 15 and, according to the organization, had faced harassment since entering the school in 2016.
She died at noon on Aug. 7, after spending four days in critical condition at San Martín Hospital.
The brief note she left on her desk began with an insult:
“Goodbye, assholes. I’m leaving a game in my backpack. Whoever finds it can keep it.”
The school closed the classroom for a year.
“May an event like this never happen again”
“Lara entered the National School with a My Little Pony sticker album in her backpack, and a year and a half later she ended her life in a classroom wearing a Mayhem T-shirt,” the organization said, referring to the legendary Norwegian black-metal band whose history included episodes of suicide and murder.
According to BSF, the teenager’s mental health had changed in the context of the bullying she was experiencing at school.
In October 2018, federal judge Ernesto Kreplak closed the case. More than a year after her death, the family was able to cremate her remains and plant a tree beside her ashes.
In determining that there had been no incitement, the judge relied on the findings of a psychological autopsy. In their report, the experts wrote that “adolescence is an age prone to risk-taking behavior. The changes and adaptive efforts that prepare young people for adult life, family and social circumstances, relationships with peers and the transition toward greater independence, new choices, combined with the events of the young woman’s own life history, made her prone to a suicidal act.”
BSF investigation
The World Organization Bullying Sin Fronteras said its Legal Department initiated proceedings before the Federal Justice system with the aim of investigating the circumstances of the case and the measures taken by education authorities.
According to the organization, psychiatrists and psychologists collaborating with BSF considered the alleged bullying an important factor in understanding the context in which the events occurred.
That assessment reflects the organization’s position and does not constitute a judicial conclusion.
The case, however, was also closed. The complaint filed by the NGO Bullying Sin Fronteras had called for an investigation into the possible responsibility of teachers, school administrators and students.

La Organización Mundial Bullying Sin Fronteras informó que Lara Tolosa, de 15 años, falleció tras un episodio ocurrido en agosto de 2017 en el Colegio Nacional Rafael Hernández, institución dependiente de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata. La organización sostiene que la adolescente había sido víctima de acoso escolar durante aproximadamente dos años.
El Dr. Javier Miglino, Director Mundial de BSF, confirmó el fallecimiento de la joven tras varios días de internación y afirmó que el caso motivó una presentación judicial para que se investigaran eventuales responsabilidades institucionales.
“Lara había sufrido un prolongado proceso de bullying. Por ese motivo presentamos una denuncia para que la Justicia determine si existieron responsabilidades por parte de docentes, directivos o alumnos”, señaló Miglino en declaraciones difundidas por la organización.
Lara lo tenía decidido: quería terminar con el infierno en el que se había convertido su vida a causa del bullying.
Había investigado en foros de internet y había anotado una lista con posibles métodos de suicidio y sus porcentajes de efectividad. Esperaba el momento. No aguantaba más y podía ser ese mismo jueves… no lo sabía.
Eran casi las ocho de la mañana y estaba en clase de Historia, en una de las amplias aulas del segundo piso del Colegio Nacional Rafael Hernández de La Plata. El estruendo en el salón de al lado sonó y, en segundos, el pasillo se llenó de gritos. El profesor corrió hacia la puerta para salir, pero de golpe irrumpió —desencajada— la profesora de Geografía, Marcela Amaro:
—Se me acaba de pegar un tiro una nena.
“Chau, mierdas”
La mañana del jueves 3 de agosto de 2017, Lara Tolosa tomó el revólver calibre .38 de su abuelo, lo guardó en la mochila, puso la alarma del celular a las 7:50 y tomó el micro rumbo al Colegio.
Se sentó en los bancos del fondo, junto a la pared, y antes de las ocho se disparó en la cabeza en plena clase de Geografía, frente a sus compañeros de 4º 7ª del Colegio Nacional Rafael Hernández de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata (CNLP).
Tenía 15 años y, según la organización, sufría hostigamiento desde que había ingresado a la escuela, en 2016.
Falleció al mediodía del 7 de agosto, después de agonizar cuatro días en el Hospital San Martín.
La breve nota que dejó en su banco comenzaba con un insulto:
“Chau, mierdas. Dejo un juego en la mochila. El que lo encuentre, se lo queda”.
El Colegio cerró el aula durante un año.
“Que jamás vuelva a ocurrir un hecho así”
“Lara entró al Nacional con un álbum de figuritas de Mi pequeño Pony en la mochila, y al año y medio terminó con su vida en un aula del establecimiento con una remera de Mayhem”, señaló la organización, en referencia a la legendaria banda noruega de black metal, cuya historia estuvo marcada por episodios de suicidio y asesinato.
Según BSF, algo había cambiado en la salud mental de la adolescente en el contexto del bullying que sufría en la escuela.
En octubre de 2018, el juez federal Ernesto Kreplak archivó la causa y, más de un año después de la muerte, la familia pudo cremar el cuerpo y plantar un árbol junto a sus cenizas.
Para determinar que no hubo incitación, el magistrado se apoyó en el resultado de la autopsia psicológica. En el informe, las peritos señalaron que “la adolescencia es una edad proclive a conductas de riesgos. Los cambios y esfuerzos adaptativos que los prepara para la vida adulta, las circunstancias familiares y sociales, la relación con pares y la salida a la exogamia, las nuevas elecciones, conjugados con los avatares de la propia historia vital de la joven la tornaron proclive al acto suicida”.
Investigación BSF
La Organización Mundial Bullying Sin Fronteras indicó que su Departamento Jurídico promovió actuaciones ante la Justicia Federal con el objetivo de que se investigaran las circunstancias del caso y las medidas adoptadas por las autoridades educativas.
Según la organización, especialistas en psiquiatría y psicología que colaboran con la entidad consideraron que el presunto acoso escolar constituía un elemento relevante para comprender el contexto en el que ocurrieron los hechos.
Esa valoración forma parte de la posición de la organización y no constituye una conclusión judicial.
La causa, sin embargo, también quedó archivada. La denuncia de la ONG Bullying Sin Fronteras había solicitado investigar la eventual responsabilidad de docentes, directivos y alumnos.

世界組織「Bullying Sin Fronteras（国境なきいじめ）」は、15歳のララ・トローサさんが、2017年8月にアルゼンチン国立ラプラタ大学付属のコレヒオ・ナシオナル・ラファエル・エルナンデスで起きた事件の後、死亡したと発表した。同組織は、ララさんが約2年間にわたり学校でのいじめを受けていたとしている。
BSF世界代表のハビエル・ミグリーノ博士は、数日間の入院の後に少女が死亡したことを確認し、この事件について、学校側の責任の可能性を調査するよう司法当局に申し立てを行ったと述べた。

2017年8月3日木曜日の朝、ララ・トローサさんは祖父の38口径のリボルバーを持ち出し、リュックに入れ、携帯電話のアラームを午前7時50分に設定して、バスで学校へ向かった。
教室の後方、壁際の席に座り、午前8時前、ラプラタ国立大学のコレヒオ・ナシオナル・ラファエル・エルナンデス（CNLP）4年7組のクラスメートがいる前で、自らの頭部を撃った。
当時15歳だったララさんは、同組織によると、2016年に同校へ入学して以来、いじめや嫌がらせを受けていた。
ララさんは4日間にわたってサン・マルティン病院で治療を受けた後、8月7日正午に死亡した。
机の上に残されていた短いメモは、侮辱的な言葉から始まっていた。
「さようなら、クソったれども。リュックの中にゲームを残しておく。見つけた人が持っていけばいい」
学校側は、その教室を1年間閉鎖した。
「このようなことが二度と起きないように」
「ララは、小さなポニーのキャラクター『マイリトルポニー』のステッカーアルバムをリュックに入れてナショナル校に入学しました。そして1年半後、彼女はメイヘムのTシャツを着て、その学校の教室で命を絶ちました」と、同組織は述べた。
メイヘムはノルウェーの伝説的なブラックメタル・バンドで、その歴史には自殺や殺人をめぐる出来事も含まれている。
BSFによると、学校で受けていたいじめの状況の中で、少女の精神状態には変化が生じていたという。
2018年10月、連邦判事エルネスト・クレプラク氏は事件を不起訴・終結扱いとした。死亡から1年以上が経過した後、家族は遺体を火葬し、その遺灰のそばに木を植えることができた。
判事は、自殺をそそのかす行為がなかったと判断するにあたり、心理的検視（psychological autopsy）の結果を根拠とした。
その報告書で専門家らは、「思春期はリスク行動に傾きやすい年齢である。成人期に向けた変化や適応努力、家庭および社会的環境、同世代との関係、家族外の世界へ向かう過程、新たな選択などが、本人自身の人生史におけるさまざまな出来事と重なり、自殺行為に傾きやすい状態にした」と指摘した。
BSFによる調査
世界組織「Bullying Sin Fronteras」は、同組織の法務部門が連邦司法当局に対して手続きを進め、事件の状況と教育当局が講じた措置について調査するよう求めたと発表した。
同組織によると、BSFに協力する精神医学・心理学の専門家は、学校でのいじめの疑いが事件の背景を理解するうえで重要な要素だったと考えた。
ただし、この評価は同組織の見解を示すものであり、司法上の結論ではない。
事件はその後、司法上も終結した。NGO「Bullying Sin Fronteras」が提出した申し立てでは、教員、学校管理者、生徒に責任があった可能性について調査するよう求めていた。
