Artificial intelligence is giving the world no respite, and one of the world's major economic powers, Japan, does not want to be left behind.
In a brief exchange between the JMH International Consortium of Journalists and officials in charge of the future office specifically designed to accelerate artificial intelligence, it was established that the initiative is being promoted by Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.
The office will be named the “AX and New Technologies Strategy Office.”
The decision was announced this Tuesday, September 1, by Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi.
Main functions of the New Technologies Office:
Centralize the ministry's AI initiatives and coordinate work with other government agencies.
Advance the so-called AX (AI Transformation), a concept Japan uses to describe the transformation of processes and services through artificial intelligence.
Objectives:
Japan seeks to make AI a more integrated tool in the functioning of the State and in the transformation of the economy.
“At a time when global competition, from the United States to Germany and from South Korea to Argentina, for the development and application of artificial intelligence is intensifying, Japan wants to send a clear political signal: it does not intend to limit AI to research or the private sector, but rather to progressively incorporate it into the transformation of public administration and its work processes.
An innovation that is surprising because it is the first G7 member to state loud and clear that AI implementation and development will not take place only in the private sector. The public sector will also have its own generators, developers and budgets aimed at making AI a vehicle for progress,” said Dr. Javier Miglino Helfenstein, Director of the JMH International Consortium of Journalists.

La oficina llevará el nombre de “Oficina de Estrategia AX y Nuevas Tecnologías”.
La decisión fue anunciada este martes 1 de septiembre por el ministro Yoshimasa Hayashi.
Funciones principales de la Oficina de Nuevas Tecnologías:
Centralizar las iniciativas de IA del ministerio y coordinar el trabajo con otros organismos gubernamentales.
Avanzar en la denominada AX (AI Transformation), un concepto que Japón utiliza para describir la transformación de procesos y servicios mediante inteligencia artificial.
Objetivos:
Japón busca convertir la IA en una herramienta más integrada en el funcionamiento del Estado y en la transformación de la economía.
“En momentos en que la competencia mundial, desde los Estados Unidos a Alemania y desde Corea del Sur a la Argentina, por el desarrollo y la aplicación de la inteligencia artificial se intensifica, Japón quiere enviar una señal política clara: no pretende limitar la IA a la investigación o al sector privado, sino incorporarla progresivamente a la transformación de la administración pública y de sus procesos de trabajo.
Una innovación que sorprende porque es el primer miembro del G7 que dice fuerte y claro: no solo habrá implementación y desarrollo de IA en el ámbito privado. El ámbito público tendrá también sus generadores, desarrolladores y presupuestos encaminados a hacer de la IA un vehículo de progreso”, dijo el Dr. Javier Miglino Helfenstein, Director del Consorcio Internacional de Periodistas JMH.

人工知能（AI）は世界において急速な進展を続けており、世界有数の経済大国の一つである日本も、この流れに乗り遅れることを望んでいない。
JMH国際ジャーナリスト・コンソーシアムが、人工知能の導入・発展を加速させるために設置される新たな専門組織を担当する関係者と短時間の意見交換を行ったところ、この取り組みは日本の総務省によって推進されていることが明らかになった。
この新組織の名称は、**「AI・新技術戦略室」**となる。
この決定は、9月1日火曜日、林芳正大臣によって発表された。
新技術部門の主な機能：
総務省内のAI関連施策を一元化し、他の政府機関との連携を調整する。
**AX（AI Transformation）**と呼ばれる取り組みを推進する。これは、日本が人工知能によるプロセスやサービスの変革を表すために用いている概念である。
目的：
日本は、AIを国家運営や経済の変革に、より深く統合されたツールとして活用することを目指している。
「米国からドイツ、韓国からアルゼンチンまで、人工知能の開発と応用をめぐる世界的な競争が激しさを増す中、日本は明確な政治的メッセージを発信しようとしている。それは、AIを研究や民間部門だけに限定するのではなく、行政とその業務プロセスの変革にも段階的に取り入れていくということだ。
これは注目すべき革新である。なぜなら、G7の加盟国として初めて、AIの導入と開発は民間部門だけで行われるものではないと明確に示したからだ。公共部門にもAIを進歩のための手段とするための人材、開発者、そして予算が用意されることになる」と、JMH国際ジャーナリスト・コンソーシアム代表のハビエル・ミグリノ・ヘルフェンスタイン博士は述べた。
