Three Venezuelan nationals will stand trial over the killing of José Alberto Ronderos, a 70-year-old retiree who was killed during a robbery at his home in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Núñez on Dec. 7, 2025.
S.J.M., de 42 años, está acusado como coautor de homicidio triplemente agravado por ensañamiento, por la participación premeditada de dos o más personas y por criminis causa, además de robo. S.M.A.J., de 34 años, y Y.E.V.F., de 29, están imputados como partícipe necesario y partícipe secundario, respectivamente, de los mismos delitos.
La jueza Fabiana Galletti, titular del Juzgado Nacional en lo Criminal y Correccional N.º 37, elevó la causa a juicio tras aceptar el pedido del auxiliar fiscal Facundo Vidal.
Los familiares denunciaron la desaparición de Ronderos el 9 de diciembre ante la Comisaría 13B de la Policía de la Ciudad, luego de no recibir respuestas a sus mensajes durante dos días. Los agentes acudieron a su vivienda, situada en la calle Vuelta de Obligado al 3100, donde encontraron al jubilado sin vida.
Según la investigación, testimonios y registros de cámaras de seguridad ubicaron a los tres acusados en la zona durante los días previos al crimen. Después del hecho, S.J.M. y D.A.M., un cuarto sospechoso que permanece prófugo, habrían abordado un colectivo junto con S.M.A.J. con destino a Parque Patricios.
Dos de los involucrados viajaron posteriormente en un micro de larga distancia hasta el partido bonaerense de Dolores y luego se trasladaron a Mar del Plata. Allí protagonizaron un accidente de tránsito y fueron detenidos.
El tercer acusado fue arrestado el 7 de enero cuando abandonaba la vivienda que compartía con su pareja en Longchamps.
En el requerimiento de elevación a juicio, el fiscal Vidal sostuvo que D.A.M. y S.J.M. ingresaron al departamento de Ronderos después de seguirlo desde un restaurante ubicado en la intersección de Manuela Pedraza y Cabildo. Según la acusación, redujeron a la víctima, la ataron y la golpearon para apoderarse de sus pertenencias.
El tribunal deberá determinar la responsabilidad penal de los acusados a partir de las pruebas reunidas durante la investigación.
El debate estará a cargo del Tribunal Oral en lo Criminal de la Nación N.º 13, integrado por los magistrados Adolfo Calvete, Enrique Gamboa y Diego Leif Guardia. El representante del Ministerio Público Fiscal será el fiscal general Aldo de la Fuente.

S.J.M., 42, is charged as a co-perpetrator with triple-aggravated homicide on grounds including excessive violence, the premeditated involvement of two or more people and criminis causa, as well as robbery. S.M.A.J., 34, and Y.E.V.F., 29, are accused as a necessary accomplice and secondary accomplice, respectively, in the same offenses.
Judge Fabiana Galletti of National Criminal and Correctional Court No. 37 ordered the case to proceed to trial after granting a request by assistant prosecutor Facundo Vidal.
Ronderos' relatives filed a missing-person report on Dec. 9 with the City Police's 13B precinct after receiving no response to their messages for two days. Officers went to his home on Vuelta de Obligado Street and found him dead.
According to the investigation, witness testimony and security-camera footage placed the three defendants in the area in the days before the crime. After the killing, S.J.M. and D.A.M., a fourth suspect who remains at large, allegedly boarded a bus with S.M.A.J. toward Parque Patricios.
Two of those involved later took a long-distance bus to Dolores district in Buenos Aires province and then traveled to the coastal city of Mar del Plata, where they were arrested following a traffic accident.
The third defendant was arrested on Jan. 7 as he was leaving the new home he shared with his partner in Longchamps.
In his request to send the case to trial, prosecutor Vidal alleged that D.A.M. and S.J.M. entered Ronderos' apartment after following him from a restaurant at the intersection of Manuela Pedraza and Cabildo. According to the prosecution, they restrained and assaulted the victim before taking his belongings.
The court will determine the defendants' criminal responsibility based on the evidence gathered during the investigation.
The trial will be heard by National Criminal Oral Court No. 13, comprising judges Adolfo Calvete, Enrique Gamboa and Diego Leif Guardia. General prosecutor Aldo de la Fuente will represent the Public Prosecutor's Office.
