Italia asiste conmovida a la desaparición de una familia completa por suicidio. Luca Abbasciano y Valentina Pambianco se quitaron la vida junto a Bianca, su hija de 5 años, y Teo, su perro. Dejaron una veintena de cartas de despedida.
Italy is mourning the disappearance of an entire family in a suicide. Luca Abbasciano and Valentina Pambianco took their own lives together with Bianca, their 5-year-old daughter, and Teo, their dog. They left behind around twenty farewell letters.
“Solos no podemos”
Luca y Valentina tenían a Bianca, quien había nacido con parálisis cerebral. Vecinos del barrio de Pietralata confirmaron al Consorcio JMH que intentaron todas las opciones de la medicina e incluso realizaron varios viajes a México en busca de una cura pregonada por una oscura clínica de “medicinas alternativas” en Monterrey.
Sobre la mesa del salón, los agentes de la policía local hallaron una veintena de cartas de despedida. En varias de ellas se reflejaban sus últimas voluntades y el reparto de sus bienes, mientras que otras transmitían un mensaje desesperado: “Solos no podemos”.
“Ayer hablábamos del caso de Pamela Cisneros, residente de Queens y de 49 años, quien, sin historial delictivo, pero con un corto aunque voluminoso expediente de salud mental que comenzó con la pandemia de 2020, decidió atacar con cuchillos a personas en la emblemática Times Square, en Nueva York, mató a Erin Piacenti, vicepresidente de Bank of America, y resultó muerta por los agentes policiales. Hoy nos toca el caso de Luca y Valentina en Roma.
En todas partes del mundo estamos asistiendo a atentados de este tipo. La silenciosa pero devastadora epidemia de salud mental, nacida a partir de situaciones personales, económicas y sociales y por el influjo de las redes sociales, está matando en todas partes”, dijo el Dr. Javier Miglino Helfenstein, experto en Derechos Humanos y Protección de la Niñez y Director Mundial de Bullying Sin Fronteras.

“We cannot do it alone”
Luca and Valentina had Bianca, who was born with cerebral palsy. Residents of the Pietralata neighborhood confirmed to the JMH Consortium that the couple tried every available medical option and even made several trips to Mexico in search of a cure promoted by an obscure “alternative medicine” clinic in Monterrey.
On the living-room table, local police officers found around twenty farewell letters. Several contained their final wishes and instructions concerning the distribution of their belongings, while others conveyed a desperate message: “We cannot do it alone.”
“Yesterday we spoke about the case of Pamela Cisneros, a 49-year-old Queens resident who had no criminal record but had a relatively short yet substantial mental-health history that began with the 2020 pandemic. She decided to attack people with knives in New York’s iconic Times Square, killed Erin Piacenti, a vice president at Bank of America, and was subsequently killed by police officers. Today we are dealing with the case of Luca and Valentina in Rome.
“All over the world, we are witnessing attacks of this kind. The silent but devastating mental-health epidemic, arising from personal, economic and social circumstances and fueled by the influence of social media, is killing people everywhere,” said Dr. Javier Miglino Helfenstein, Human Rights and Child Protection expert and World Director of Bullying Without Borders.

ルカ氏とヴァレンティーナ氏には、脳性まひを抱えて生まれたビアンカちゃんがいた。ピエトララータ地区の住民はJMHコンソーシアムに対し、夫妻が医学によるあらゆる治療の可能性を試み、さらに治療法を求めてメキシコへ何度も渡航し、モンテレイにある「代替医療」を掲げるあるクリニックが宣伝していた治療法を探していたと証言した。
居間のテーブルの上から、地元警察の捜査員が約20通の別れの手紙を発見した。その中には、最後の意思や財産の分配について記したものが複数あった一方、別の手紙には絶望的なメッセージが残されていた。

「昨日、私たちはクイーンズ在住の49歳、パメラ・シスネロス氏の事件について話しました。同氏には犯罪歴はありませんでしたが、2020年のパンデミックをきっかけに始まった、比較的短期間ではあるものの膨大な精神衛生上の記録がありました。同氏はニューヨークの象徴的なタイムズスクエアで人々をナイフで襲い、バンク・オブ・アメリカの副社長エリン・ピアチェンティ氏を殺害し、その後、警察官によって射殺されました。そして今日は、ローマで起きたルカ氏とヴァレンティーナ氏の事件について取り上げています。
