Gabriel, que murió por una cardiomiopatía hipertrófica, una enfermedad en el corazón que causa el engrosamiento del músculo cardíaco y puede provocar muerte súbita con apenas 22 años era un hombre profundamente comprometido con la lucha contra el bullying y el ciberbullying. Él mismo había padecido acoso escolar en la escuela y sabía lo terrible del acoso que hace apenas unos días dejó dos muertos en una escuela de Río Branco, Acre. Gabriel siempre estaba dispuesto a ayudar y en BSF muchos recuerdan con emoción su mensaje hace pocos días por el 'Dos de Mayo, Día Mundial contra el Bullying'. En ese momento no solo felicitó a la Organización Mundial Bullying Sin Fronteras por haber creado la efemérides sino que también se ofreció como embajador en Brasil contra el bullying. Brasil pierde a un gran embajador y Bullying Sin Fronteras pierde a un gran amigo", dijo el Dr. Javier Miglino Helfenstein, Experto en Derechos Humanos y Protección de la Niñez y Director Mundial de Bullying Sin Fronteras.

Gabriel, que morreu de cardiomiopatia hipertrófica, uma doença cardíaca que causa espessamento do músculo cardíaco e pode levar à morte súbita, com apenas 22 anos, era um homem profundamente comprometido com a luta contra o bullying e o cyberbullying.
Ele próprio havia sofrido bullying na escola e sabia o quão terrível era o bullying que, há poucos dias, deixou dois mortos em uma escola em Rio Branco, Acre. Gabriel estava sempre disposto a ajudar, e muitos no BSF lembram com emoção de sua mensagem de alguns dias atrás, no '2 de maio, Dia Mundial Contra o Bullying'. Naquela ocasião, ele não só parabenizou a Organização Mundial Contra o Bullying Sem Fronteiras pela criação da data comemorativa, como também se ofereceu para ser um embaixador no Brasil contra o bullying.' “O Brasil perdeu um grande embaixador, e a Bullying Without Borders perdeu um grande amigo”, disse o Dr. Javier Miglino Helfenstein, especialista em direitos humanos e proteção infantil e diretor global da Bullying Without Borders.
