PAKISTAN SCHOOL COLLAPSE

PESHAWAR, Pakistan, October 15, 2026 — WORLD ORGANIZATION BULLYING WITHOUT BORDERS (BSF)

At least 35 people, including 34 children and a teacher, were killed on Thursday when a school building collapsed in Peshawar, northwestern Pakistan, according to media reports. More than 50 people were injured.

The children were attending classes at the Al-Khair Education Center when the structure gave way, trapping students and staff beneath the rubble. Emergency teams worked to rescue survivors and recover victims.

Authorities launched an investigation into the collapse. Police said the building's structural condition was under scrutiny, and the school's owner was detained as investigators sought to establish the cause of the disaster and determine whether safety regulations had been breached.

The circumstances surrounding the collapse have yet to be fully established. Any criminal responsibility will depend on the findings of the investigation.

BSF CALLS FOR ACCOUNTABILITY AND STRONGER SCHOOL SAFETY

The World Organization Bullying Without Borders (BSF) called for a thorough and transparent investigation, emphasizing that schools must provide safe environments for children.

“Children should never have to risk their lives to receive an education,” the organization said, urging authorities to review school buildings, enforce safety standards and address any failures identified by investigators.

The disaster highlights the importance of effective inspections, proper maintenance and accountability in educational facilities.

No child should lose their life simply by going to school.
